“Beautiful Hotel, Perfect Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

When booking this hotel I was struck by the beautiful photos on-line of their rooms and hotel décor. I had, like most, presumed that when I got there it would not be as beautiful as 9 times out of 10 pictures are not always accurate. I was wrong! This hotel is even more fabulous in reality. The hotel was originally a theatre and the ornate décor of the breakfast area and lobby are still true to it's interesting history.
Where to start?...
Reception & Staff: 5 Star! The lobby of this hotel immediately makes you feel welcome and the friendly staff add to this feeling. Always smiling and helpful.
The rooms: Perfect. Not overly big but in reality you don't need a vast room when you are staying in such an amazing city as you will be spending most of our time enjoying the sites outside the bedroom :)
The food: Breakfast... I will be dreaming of the breakfast in this hotel for a long time to come! The selection of food was mind blowing and the taste... delicious! Not only was the food selection amazing but the staff were so helpful and always there to get you more tea or top up your coffee. The breakfast area itself is atop a glass cube installed in the centre of what used to be the old theatre itself. Hard to describe as the pictures don't do it justice.
Checkout was at a great time of 12 noon as it gives you time to have a lie in, enjoy your breakfast and take a final walk around Prague before leaving.

Location Location Location. This hotel is on a quiet street and the Old Town Square is less than 2 mins walk. It is the perfect location! Wenceslas Square equally as close.

All in all I couldn't recommend this hotel more highly for anyone who is wishing to visit Prague.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Kempinski courtyard as it is a nice view and quiet.

Quite an elegant looking hotel, very close to the Powder Tower and Obecni Dum and therefore only 10 min walk from the Old Town Square so perfectly situated for viewing Prague. Namesti Republiky station is just around the corner so also very easy to get onto the excellent metro system.
Rooms are comfortable but not luxurious but with all the facilities we wanted (for UK visitors, although the hotel website doesn't mention it they have a kettle and cups & tea/coffee in the room!). Also bear in mind that smoking is still a common thing in Prague so sometimes people were smoking in the bistro bar. This didn't bother me personally but our original "non-smoking" room did smell as if it was a smoking room not too long ago.
Everything in the hotel is very clean and well kept, the rooms are cleaned beautifully each day and it was all in good condition. The buffet breakfast was very good with something for everyone and was a great start to a day's sightseeing.
The staff in this hotel are brilliant - extremely polite and always very keen to help in any way. When the safe in our room didn't work and they couldn't fix it, they moved us to another (better & larger) room without a quibble. They arranged private car transport to & from the airport for a competitive price. You got the impression that they really wanted you to enjoy your stay - and we did!

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking onto the internal courtyard.

We had stayed in the K+K Hotel Central in Prague at the end of January, and we had an amazing experience with it! Although we arrived earlier that the official check-in time, we were told to wait about 20 minutes and we got our room.
The room was facing to a very nice inner courtyard so it was quiet but not dark at all. The space was more than enough, the amentities were good and the heating of the bathroom floor was an amazing additional plus in the cold winter! We haven't met with the housemades during our stay but they were very efficient - our room was always tidy and the batroom accesories were replenished day by day. One little tip to the hotel: we left our towel on the hanger due to environmental consideration (we did not want to make it change) - but they have changed it..

This was our first time in Prague, and the recommendations of the reception were more than useful! We have asked for directions and restaurants and they told us everything with a smile! Lubos and Zaneta were those we met and talked - they did a very nice job, in few days we explored the city and the castle and the czech cuisine! Zaneta told us to go to the restaurant Kolkovne (Kolkovne street), and we had our best dinner there in the last years, I believe! do not miss it!
Breakfast was included in our reservation, and it makes our awakening wonderful! As soon as you have arrived they asked for your preferentes for tee or coffee and they served it inmediately. The aboundant choice make you suffer - I was unhappy I wasn't able to try everything since what I ate was all delicious!! And the service, again, very nice and caring about your needs and wishes!

All in all, this a very good place to stay and so close to the city center that we hadn't take any taxis or public transportation at all! Also close to the main train-station (Praha hl.n.). I strongly recommend to enjoy their hospitality!

Dear Mrs. RCSZ

Thank you for taking time and reviewing our property.

I absolutely agree with you – a warm smile and heating of the bathroom floor are added value not only in the winter period

With pleasure I will pass your words of appreciation to our entire team, especially to Zaneta and Lubos at the reception.

Thank you also for your comment with the environmental consideration. I´ll certainly discuss it with the management during our next meeting.

We are looking forward to welcoming you soon again, so that you can try the rest of the specialities at the buffet breakfast

Best regards

I would like to add my voice to the wave of positive reviews this hotel has received. This hotel was recommended by my sister, so I took her word and booked with no questions asked, confident that it would be fine... and I was not disappointed!

The 3-night package with double room and breakfast cost me 240 EUR in total, which for a property of this standard in such a great location in Prague is real value for money.

There was nothing I could find fault with in the hotel. The room I was given was on the 7th floor in the rear building and probably the room furthest from reception, but the walk was more than compensated for by the cosy, airy room with a lovely room of the garden of the Kempinski Hotel next door. Everything worked in the room and housekeeping was good. Breakfast was fine, although I chose not to try the champagne (included in price) as drinking so early in the morning doesn't agree with me.

All the staff with whom I had contact were pleasant, helpful and efficient. There is a stock of umbrellas at reception for use in wet weather.

The building is an art nouveau gem which has been carefully upgraded and extended. There is a helpful wall display by the breakfast area detailing the history of the building.

Location is superb. Few minutes walk from the Powder Gate and Obecni Dum. A number of good eating options are on the doorstep, as are shopping malls and a Billa supermarket (although the little shop next door to the hotel is open until midnight and is where I stocked up on groceries). The AE bus from the airport stops at Namesti Republiky and by Masarykovo Nadrazi.

This was our second stay at the Hotel Central in nine months and it was just as good as the first time. I love this hotel! The rooms are spotlessly clean, comfortable and simply furnished, albeit with everything you need. The bathrooms are great, especially the underfloor heating. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The art nouveau decor is beautiful. The location is central (hence the name, I guess!). And the breakfast buffet is to die for - I could happily stay there all day!

Room Tip: Rooms ending in a 6 have no view, but are very quiet.

The hotel is beautiful inside and great value for money. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are very clean and the heated bathroom floor is a nice perk (thermostat is under the sink). The breakfast was great with lots of different things on offer, however, if you like your cooked breakfast, there is not really that much to have, and the sausages and bacon were broken up and a little burnt. The bar has a good selection of drinks, but is expensive. But that is to be expected a hotel.

The location is ideal and all the major attractions are in 15-30 minute walking distance. I would defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone who is wanting a weekend away to explore what the city has to offer.

The hotel is almost in front of thr gun powder tower but outside the oldvtwon, meters away fron Namesty Republik underground station. Great location.

The hotel interior was oryginally an art deco theatre and it has been beatyfully restored with a modernisic style solution. The main stairs and elevator are also quite nice art deco style.

The rooms are all almost identical, a bit small but functional.
Staff is friendly.

Qualitybprice relation iss good.

Room Tip: I have been a few times and all rooms are almost identical. However rooms in the main building, near...
