My wife and I booked this hotel over New Years. I am just getting around to writing the review but it was the worst hotel we stayed in for our entire 3 week trip to Europe. We used United points to book...although United paid them more than their advertised rate, they still charged us an extra $50 a night because they said united only booked 1 guest instead of 2. Complete scam. The front desk woman was completely unhelpful and rude. The hot water didn't work for 2 of the 3 mornings but of course they were not willing to even take away the $50 extra charge for the trouble.

Location is good, 12 min walk to the nearest subway and 2 min walk to the Charles Bridge. Everything in Prague is pretty good location due to the great subway system and small size of the city. I would recommend staying in the Jewish Quarter, as in most European cities. The Jewish "Ghetto" is pretty nice and where all of the nice shops and streets are. Don't miss it.

We stayed at the Certovka Hotel for three nights at the beginning of March. We had e-mailed the week before requesting a second floor room as didn't want to be on the ground floor, the receptionist e-mailed back within half an hour saying that we had a room reserved on the second floor. The hotel is very pleasant, in a good location and we never heard any noise as has been mentioned on previous reviews. There is no bar or restaurant so it is very quiet inside also. The staff were always very friendly. Breakfast is better than many hotels, the usual continental food but also omelette, eggs or ham and eggs included in the price. Our room was fine, not enormous, and had a new shower room.
As we had an early evening flight our cases were kept for us in a locked room until time to leave. Would recommend this hotel, especially if you can get a good deal pricewise as we did.

The 'other' side of the river from the tourist hotels - and therefore more money in your pocket to spend! Literally within metres of the Charles Bridge on the Castle side and therefore ideally palced to walk into the old quarter and town centre or away towards the Castle etc. AND, so much cheaper.
The hotel is well used by tourists and internationals and the location is what sold it to us! It is away from the normal tourist traps and within easy striking distance of wherever you want to walk to. There are restaurants and cafes within very easy reach of the front door - literally across the street, round the corner and in the square about 50m away.
The rooms are 'functional' and unless you are at the front of the hotel are adequate in size (the front rooms are larger). They are clean and contain everything you would normally expect to find! But you are not going to be spending too much time lying around your hotel when in this wonderful city. Breakfast was continental AND cooked (although limited choice), coffee was good (most important) and the staff are great! A very good start to the day!
Everything you need is within easy (adult) walking distance and you are literally at the end of the Bridge which takes you into the Old Quarter and the main tourist areas.
We loved this hotel - warm, clean, friendly and cheap!!

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room on the 'front' or facing the Charles Bridge!

We booked this hotel via Cresta Travel and checked it out on Trip Adviso but were still astounded when we arrived! This is a charming small hotel located right at the foot of Charles Bridge. Our room was on the second floor and looked out over Charles Bridge. This side of the hotel is very quiet at night. We had a huge modern bathroom, recently renovated. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant with a good command of English. Breakfast was included and it is excellent - variety of cold meats, cheeses, fruit juices and pastries as well as the usual cereal, yogurt etc. In addition, you could order eggs, ham, sausage, omelette etc.The hotel will arrange for pickup at the airport, avoiding possible ripoffs by cabbies.

Room Tip: I believe we were in Room 5 - would choose it again!

Perfect location in the middle of the Karluv bridge area, still quiet and romantic. Our room had a view over the castle and old town roof tops. Balcony or French window would have been nice but not necessity.

This hotel was highly recommended by colleagues who frequently travel to Prague. It is located centrally in old Prague, virtually at the end of the Charles Bridge. It is in a very old building that has been successfully updated. The staff are friendly and very helpful.

The hotel will arrange for pickup at the airport, avoiding possible ripoffs by cabbies.

The rooms are reasonably sized, and furnishings are typical of the neighborhood. The cleaning staff keeps them in meticulous condition. There are rooms that face the street, the bridge, or the mill race next to the river. Be aware that the street is very noisy at night, and you can hear voices from the bridge well into the early morning hours. If you don't want noise and do want to have the window open at night, the mill race side is your best bet. Room 11 is on a corner facing both street and bridge and is best avoided as are similar rooms on other floors.

Breakfasts are similar to those in similar hotels, but they are enhanced by eggs freshly cooked to order.. The cooked menu also features sausage with mustard and horseradish. Avoid this dish. The sausage is as tasteless as US hot dogs.

This hotel is reasonably priced for its quality, and I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: There are rooms that face the street, the bridge, or the mill race next to the river. Be aware that...

We booked this hotel on Booking.com and were astounded when we arrived! This is a charming small hotel located right at the foot of Charles Bridge. Our room was on the main floor and looked out over the river with a view of the outdoor bar/pub right across the river. Flowers hung from the railings and it was just lovely. We had a huge modern bathroom. The windows don't fully open due to their shape but certainly adequate for ventilation. Our friends were on the top floor but the view wasn't any better, their room was smaller and the bathroom had not been updated. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was included and it is excellent - variety of cold meats, cheeses, fruit juices and pastries as well as the usual cereal, yogurt etc. In addition, you could order eggs, ham, sausage, omelet etc.We were sorry to leave this hotel and join our tour at the Prague Hilton - a big, glass box with no charm at all.

Room Tip: I believe we were in Room 3 - would choose it again!
