We stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. The reception staff are not very helpful, unlike the bellboy or even tour guides (there are several tours staying at this hotel).
We didn't have any problems with the room, but I would expect to have at least hair conditioner and lotion in the bathroom if I'm staying at a 5*
To be honest, location is very good. You are walking distance from old town and jewish quarter. But then again, all touristic attractions are very close. Make sure you pack comfortable shoes as must of the streets are cobblestoned.
We didn't eat at the hotel, but very close you will find good restaurants and the Bakeryshop which I would recommend for a tea or coffee and a nice pastry.
Also, try to book your airport transport beforehand, as taxis can be expensive.
A good recommendation is to go to an evening concert at the Rudolfino. You will not be in a big theatre, and don't be fooled for just having 5 string instruments, it is definitely beautiful and worth it.

When I return to Prague, I might not stay here again, although I can't say it is bad, but there are better options for the same cost.

Equipment of interiors is nice, hotel is clean and has great locality on the riverside Vltava. Breakfast was rich and very tasty, except coffee - it was terrible! Receptionists in hotel are not very helpful, we were very unsatisfied. Cosmetics in bathroom are poor, we expected from 5 stars hotel more comfortable aids.

We had a good experience at this hotel, others have called it dated but the room was large the beds comfortable and the breakfast was of good standard. The staff we experienced were friendly especially the porter. We had a bar meal as we got in late and it was enjoyable. The hotel is well placed for walking to the old part of town with plenty of places to eat and see. The cobbled streets are something to get used to and definitely not for heels! The hotel is by the river which adds a nice feel to it all.

If you book a large hotel of tired 60's looking architecture this is what you get. It has no soul and the staff, some friendly, some not so friendly are quite disorganised at reception. it's not 5 star I can't see how it has this rating but the location is good, bedrooms were large, if dull and the breakfast was more than adequate. We didn't eat diner as the menu didn't appeal to us and there are hundreds of restaurants to choose from nearby. We had sandwiches at the bar and they were fine. Everything else has been said in previous reviews, there are more interesting places to stay in Prague.

Room Tip: We didn't mind not having a river view it's not particularly interesting and there is a bus...

THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL, PERHAPS NOT EVEN 4
staff unfriendly and unwilling to help
room was spacious and bathroom newly renovated (room 506) alas equipped like a 3 star hotel bathroom. no tissues, no slippers
old TV set with bad reception. only a couple of English speaking channels. no BBC World, no CNN
breakfast is decent, but a far cry from a breakfast you'd have in a 4 start hotel in London or Barcelona
location is great, only 10 minutes walk to the main square
check in is very late (15hrs), which may be problematic if you arrive in the morning after a long night flight like I did. you need to be assertive and insist on getting the room cleaned. you'll face unwillingness from the receptionist as they consider it as an extra favor. keep on insisting...i got my room at 13hrs. good luck

As claimed on the website that most of the rooms are river facing is not true. Also the basics expected in 5star hotel are not there i.e No Kettle to make tea, No drinking water on arrival or subsequent days.No newspapers,No moisturizer in bath. The room size of Junior suite is good but has old tvs. There is no gymn or swimming pool.
The breakfast also had raw vegetables like green pepper, red pepper etc to add variety which becomes boring after a day. There r more pork options then chicken. It was certainly not 5star standard breakfast.
The location is good but the hotel must improve on above to be categorised as 5star.

Room Tip: ensure before hand with the hotel manager that it is a river view else u will never get it.

We arrived at our hotel at 11:30am on a Friday. We were the first of a group from a tour that was staying at the hotel. We had many rooms reserved under the tour group name and didn't expect our rooms to be ready that early. We were willing to wait until the 2:00pm check in time, even 3:00pm would not have been a problem. The hotel collected our bags and staged them in a room down the hallway. Most of us decided to scatter out and find a nice place to eat. When we returned at 4:30pm we were faced with the same dilemma...no rooms were available. Something was going from the hotel side but they never told us if there was a problem. Finally they started assigning rooms about 6:30 -7:00pm We were tired and irritated by then. Some people were given rooms with "guests" already in them! Others saw some rooms with luggage staged inside the door, but it wasn't theirs. Luckily, my room was vacant and cleaned and I settled in. I felt bad because some people did not have rooms until late into the evening.
However, whatever the internal problem was, it became discreetly resolved. The rooms were clean and comfortable and after a night tour of the city and dinner we all enjoyed a good nights sleep. The breakfast buffet was extensive with scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, cold cuts & cheese, cereal, breads, and pastries. The breakfast room was fairly large and overlooked the Vltava River where your could watch the boats go by as you ate a filling breakfast. The rest of the stay was pleasant...it was an unfortunate first impression. They could have told us what was happening. The tour director is checking into the disorder at the front desk. I was traveling with two other friends that had a separate room. The beds were comfortable, the closet had ample space, there is a safe in the room, and the bathroom was roomier than expected. This hotel is located at the end of Old Town and ideal for walking to the shops and most of the sites you'll want to see - like the Astronomical Clock. Wear comfortable, flat shoes, the cobblestones will do a number on your ankles if you wear heels. This should have been a "4" rating, but after waiting so long for the room without an explanation, I couldn't do it.

Room Tip: No matter what room you have - you cannot set the A/C Heat thermostat. Don't even try.
