i stayed 3 nights with my mother travelling on a group, on a very spacious room with view on the river. room was very spacious, witha big window on the river. Clean and very comfortable hotel, great and safe location, very close to Old town, astronomical clock, and Jewish area, and Charles's bridge walking distance. Few steps is Pariska street with many restaurants and famous brand names luxury shops. Very rich breakfast.
Surely i prefer to stay again .

Stayed in Prague for 7 nights -- pick up by hotel at the airport is a must - saved all kinds of hassle after a long night flight. Had a Jr suite (huge) with equally large bath overlooking the river. The room was exceptionally clean + quiet (altho listed as having a casino it isn't there) - hotel on the edge of the Jewish quarter within easy walking of all the major sights. Breakfasts a combination of continental - "american" included with the room.

Room Tip: junior suites are huge with nice bath and views of the river.

My husband and I recently stayed here as part of a package. We recommend an airport transfer which the hotel arranged for us: no hassles. First of all, it is not really a 5-star hotel by most travelers' standards. Nevertheless, it's a very nice hotel and a wonderful base to tour Prague, right on the river. Also we could walk from there to catch the bus, and to train stations for trips outside of Prague. The hotel was obviously built during the Communist era, but has been renovated. We found the people working there most friendly and helpful, even taking great pains to help my husband with a medical need. (We ended up walking 300 feet down the street to the hospital next door, where no one spoke much English, but were able to take care of an infected finger that had turned rather nasty--with no waiting on a Thursday at midnight, for the grand sum of about $32 American dollars). The Catering Director at the Hotel could not have been more kind, and helped us with translating the instructions when we returned. The room we had with a view of the Castle was extremely large, with a walkout terrace, and a beautifully renovated bath. The furnishings were very comfortable. But the highlight of our stay was the food: a sumptious buffet breakfast each morning was included, a request for a late lunch at 3:00 pm in the dining room upon arrival on a Sunday afternoon was rewarded with the best smoked salmon sandwich I've ever had, and dinner there on a very rainy night was as fine as anything we've had in Paris. The service was wonderful, and the Bohemian Chardonnay was as good as a French wine. In fact, everywhere we ate in Prague was the same: great food and wines, wonderful and friendly service, and very reasonable prices. Get off the main tourist streets a block or two and you will find very special places.

Room Tip: If you reserve the rooms with a view of the Castle, make sure you can see it from inside the room...

Comfortable bed and quiet room, with a very nice bathroom. Free internet use. I was traveling with a tour as a single, and had a king bed, which was very nice. The room locations are somewhat confusing in relation to the elevators. The buffet breakfast was fine. The location is excellent--one can walk to the river and to the amazing Old Town.

This hotel was booked for as a part of a tiour package.Even though it was ranked 5 star it was not where near that.We arrived late at night close to midnight due to connecting flight from germany was late.Only to be told that "you are very late to check in and must hurry" so we didnt get off to a great start. Our rooms were large and spacious very basic and old furnishings. However it was clean.Lights werent working probley nor was the air conditioningthey sent someone to fix them. Then next morning at breakfast it was an effort to figure out how to work the toaster,so i asked BIG mistake as i got yelled at by the waitress saying "this is the machine"and still didnt help.Hotel staff were not very nice or helpful.
Location was good about 10minute walk to centre of town which its not very safe to walk at night,so keep that it mind.
I wouldnt stay there again if i had a choice.

I had a sleepless first night because of several flea bites at both my feet from sitting at the desk... When I looked at the carpet in the room the next day it was obvious nobody had vacuum cleaned it for weeks...
The manager offered a 10 % discount for the inconvenience... I told him he could keep the discount since I prefered to share this bad experience with others...
