“We were very happy with this hotel”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

The location of this hotel is great. We were able to conveniently walk everywhere from it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When you make a reservation, see about having the staff reserve transportation for you from the airport to the hotel. We were met at the airport by a driver holding a sign with our name on it. We were able to add that transportation charge to our bill and pay by credit card when we check out. We tipped the driver in cash. The hotel can arrange for transportation back to the airport too.
Our included breakfast offered a good selection of food and drink, however they did not have decaf coffee. If that's what you drink, bring some freeze-dried packets and get hot water brought to your table.
My wife is a vegetarian. The person at the desk gave us the name of a vegetarian restaurant, Lehka Hlava, and directions to it. She offered to call to make a reservation for us, but we declined. When we got to the restaurant we lucked out and shared a table with a wonderful Italian couple, but a reservation well in advance would have been best. The food there was excellent and prices very reasonable. We liked the place so much that we ate there both nights we were in Prague.
Back to the hotel, our room was on the 2nd floor, which would be the 3rd floor in the US. The building was historic and didn't have an elevator. While the staff was happy to carry our luggage up and then back down, people with limited mobility might find the steps challenging.
Our room was clean and comfortable and the bath modern and with amenities including a heated towel rack. We even had a good view up the hill to part of the castle complex above.
The bottom line, we'd stay there again.

This is a small, lovely hotel on a quiet street. Everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. A very peaceful place to come back to after a long day of exploring Prague.

This hotel has it all. It is very well located in the quieter part of the Prague downtownish area. It is also very close to the the Prague Castle, as well as several other sites. The staff was always very helpful. We had a car and the parking was close by and reasonable. The rooms were very nice and a little quirky. One caution is that they do not have air conditioning, so it can get a bit hot in the depths of August, but the rooms have fans, which is more than most! I would highly recommend this hotel!!!

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 6 days in late August. We chose this particular hotel after reading the flattering reviews by previous visitors, and envisaged a family-style hotel in a good location, with impressive interior decoration, comfortable rooms, and (most importantly) a friendly and helpful staff. Our expectations were very high – but reality was even better.
Rather than reiterating the worthy compliments provided by previous visitors about the hotel (nicest we have been to in Europe) and amazing staff (especially Lenka, with her immaculate English), I will mention just a few tips:
1. My wife was initially worried that on the map the hotel appeared quite far from the old city. However, this turned out to be a non-issue. Karl’s bridge is just a short walk away, and almost all the other important touristic sites are within walking distance (if you like walking). Although the tram station is also pretty close to the hotel, we only used public transport once (to the Vyšehrad fort) during our stay in Prague. However, if you don’t like walking, and especially if you have medical problems, you should consider getting to the hotel by car (they have parking space) as the walk uphill may be demanding. Also take into consideration there is no elevator in the hotel, so you might want to book a ground-floor room ahead of time.
2. Because we had nice weather throughout our stay, we were not bothered by the lack of A/C and managed with the fan, although I can appreciate how that might be challenging in a heat wave.
3. There are some nice restaurants and live-music around the hotel. Worth checking them out if you don’t want to go into the old city (which can be crowded at times).
So, with the danger of sounding too much like previous reviewers, I will just end by thanking the hotel staff for a wonderful stay in beautiful Prague, with the hope that at our next visit the hotel will remain with the same amazing staff and welcoming atmosphere.

We only stayed one night in Prague because we were concerned about all of the crime and poverty that we heard about before our visit and we specifically choose this hotel because it had gated parking for the rental car. The good is that we had an excellent room, excellent rental car parking, wonderful (and beautiful) English speaking staff, it was in a very safe neighborhood with many small restaurants, and walking distance to the castle complex. The bad is that is was a little more expensive and the hotel is close to an embassy so if you drive to the hotel you will be stopped, asked questions, and the car will be searched but it is very quick and professional. We were treated wonderfully and never had any problems while in Prague and I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Remember that you have to carry your suitcases upstairs.

One of the best hotel experiences we've had! You can't beat the location. The building is updated, but still gives you the old world feeling. Good breakfast. But it's the service that makes this hotel stand out. Every employee we encountered was more than happy to help and extremely patient with all of our questions! Be sure to enjoy the wine cellar.

The only downfall is that there is no AC. However, we were able to sleep with the windows open with minimal street noise and were given an electric fan. Our stay was at the beginning of August. While quite hot in the room, everything else made it totally worth it. We'll definitely be back!

Dear guests,
Thank you very much for taking your time and sharing such a lovely review with us!
We were delighted to learn that you enjoyed your stay at our historic boutique hotel.
Considering the AC, please note, that we are keeping the historic feeling of hotel and installation of air-condition would not be in touch with the nature of the building.
Thank you again for visiting our hotel and I hope, that the next time you will be travelling to our beautiful city, Hotel at the Green grape will be your first choice.

Sincerely Yours,
Lenka, Michaela and staff

Everything about this boutique hotel is top-rate, top to bottom, beginning to end. From the time I made the booking to the check-out, everything is FIRST RATE, starting with the staff! I booked online and then followed up with emails. Michaela was responded in a timely manner, ALWAYS, and always answered all my questions thoroughly. Oftentimes, when communicating with people with a list of questions, inadvertently, some questions don't get answered, just because it's overlooked. Michaela doesn't miss a detail. Everything was answered promptly and thoroughly. Quite impressive.

We were celebrating a milestone anniversary and my daughter's birthday and they assigned us a very nice room, the Ema Destinnova, with welcome flowers from their garden and a lovely bottle of wine. The room was HUGE. The website says it's 500 sq ft but it felt even bigger than that. Bed was extremely comfortable, and my daughter had her own bed in the ante-room that they set up.

At the very last minute, we decided to arrange for pickup at the airport and everything was taken care of. When we checked in, it was Lenka who was on duty and she was equally amazing, Such a warm welcome, she went over the map, all the things available to us, gave us a wonderful tour of the room, and great recommendations for a couple of restaurants, one of which we tried, and was excellent.

Breakfast is included in the hotel rate and there was a wide variety of choices of hot foods, yogurts, fruits, juices and coffee made to order(espresso, cappuccino, etc.).

Everything about this boutique hotel is done perfectly, all the little details and little touches, incredible. The way it's run, the surroundings, the interior design, etc. Everything was well thought of. I hope the owners of the hotel(I think it's privately owned) realize how lucky they are with Michaela and Lenka running this place. It is Incredibly clean and immaculate(and I'm extremely particular), the way the place was renovated, truly top craftsmanship. My husband and I were admiring even the way the windows were constructed, the choice of handles and knobs - just every single detail. Even though it was totally renovated, you could tell that a lot of thought went into keeping it looking historical. The décor, ambiance and surroundings had a very dignified, classic, quiet and luxurious elegance, very understated and low-key but very classy nonetheless, unlike some of the "top" hotels I saw while I was deciding on a hotel in Prague, whose idea of elegant and luxurious was gaudy and loud with all kinds of fake "gold" embellishments, etc.

Everything else that prior reviewers said are accurate. The only "warning" I have is that the pictures in the website, although accurate, doesn't do justice to how the place really looks, it's much more beautiful in person, and the rooms are much larger than how it looks in the photos. And it doesn't convey the warmth, and efficiency of Michaela and Lenka, and the very personalized and warm welcome they exude while there.
