Very good 5-star hotel, perfectly-located in Stare Mesto neighbourhood, with spacious rooms, excellent littery, cleanliness and services. We enjoyed very much the "Art deco" atmosphere, that gave us a a very charming and romantic dimension to our stay - it gives personality to the spot, and makes you really feel different that in most luxury hotels. The breakfast vas rich and various, and the Imperial Cafe was nice for dinner, too.
I would highly recommend this hotel for visitors, looking for comfort and relaxation during their stay in the wonderfull city of Prague.

Lovely art deco hotel. All the staff we dealt with were very helpful. As usual in Europe the room was very warm, but the helpful staff rectified this in no time. Buffet breakfast was good and the dining room was beautiful. Spent time exploring the hotel with it's sculptures & decoration. Good location, we were able to walked to most places. The trams are all nearby.

This was our first visit to Prague and the hotel provided an excellent introduction to the City. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We requested a change rooms to a larger one and this was arranged. The highlight of the hotel was the Cafe. We had dinner there which was very good but were disappointed that on one of the evenings it was only open to a private party. Many coffees were had at the Municipal House which was close by. We would definitely return to Prague and and the Imperial Hotel.

Do not be concerned when the cab drops you off outside; this really is a wonderful hotel. Our room was absolute luxury, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The restaurant is a tourist attraction in itself with coach trips bringing visitors to see the amazing mosaic tiling. Breakfast was everything you could possibly wish for and of superb quality. We also ate in the restaurant one evening. The food was excellent, and the service faultless. Even the price was reasonable. The bar was very quiet but we had a few aperitifs before we went out, and again on our return. The service was first rate, and all the staff in the hotel attentive and keen to please. And then out into Prague itself. Turn right out of the Hotel and within 5 minutes walk you'll smell the street cooking, see the oustanding architecture, and be astounded by the number of quality restaurants. Local Czech food is basic but so comforting. And with the wide selection of local beers, it is my idea of heaven! We heard lots about stag and hen parties but I didn't see one anywhere. The streets felt safe even late at night. After day one, we bought a daily travel pass so we could hop on and off the trams and tubes, a cheap and efficient way to see the city. I have already started recommending this hotel and Prague to friends.

First the bad: Lobby nothing special. Claims to be non-smoking hotel but people do smoke in the lobby and elsewhere in the hotel. Beware of drinking the bottled water in the room. It's not free, in fact, they charge more than 5 pounds for it! That's 6 euros or almost 9 dollars!!! We didn't realise it was considered part of the 'mini bar' when we first arrived. Lucky we just drank the one bottle. Very disappointing. Also, room service is extortionate and there's nothing Czech on the menu.
Now the good: We did have a nice room and the location is OK. It's a 15 minute walk to the Old Town. Not ideal if it's very cold and/or you have children, but in the summer should be fine. Breakfast was nice but the pastries were stale and you should get there early to enjoy the best stuff. Overall, a nice stay but would try something different next time.

Just returned from anniversary first trip to Prague. Couldn't have picked a nicer place to stay.
Near to Republic Square and short walk beyond to the Old Town Square.
Read in a new Eyewitness Prague trip guide that the Imperial had been turned into a hostel but that is grossly untrue . It doesn't look ostentatious from the outside but walk into the hall and the art deco is all there - not overpowering but such a pleasant change from the internationally mundane.
Very good reception and concierge staff with a pleasing attitude, very willing to make the stay enjoyable.
The room was excellent. Large mahogany furniture and the most comfortable bed in years. My wife, who sleeps poorly, would have brought it home if she could. A soak in the en-suite bathroom with marble tiles, granite basin surround, ornate fittings and wrap into the towelled robes and slippers - perfect to soothe the aching feet .
The restaurant with its tiled walls, columns and friezes is delightful (even the fire exit signs have an art deco flourish), for breakfast (buffet-style), afternoon tea and cakes (so refreshing after all the walking) or dinner. You need to book well in advance for dinner - ie before you get there. We were lucky. Delicious food, Czech or other cuisine, well presented, prompt and cheerful, helpful service and not outrageously priced.
The only minor failure was that the complimentary room teas/coffees weren't replenished each day so that, if we only wanted coffee or English tea or Earl Grey, there was only one serving of each for 2. We could have chased that but there was sufficient. That was the only thing that prevented a top score on the questionnaire.
Only our opinion but we wouldn't hesitate to recommend and we would certainly be very happy to return to the Imperial again.

Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights in November. It was the first time we have been to prague.
The Hotel was gorgeous! photos do not do it justice...when we arrived they even upgraded us to a suite for free :)
The rooms are spacious and very clean. All the staff were helpful and easily approachable.
The hotel is only a short walk from all the shops and the main square.
I would totaly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a lovely stay in Prague.
