“Sensational hotel!”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

My wife and I had a great few days in Prague, and this hotel made our stay truly memorable. The hotel itself is a piece of history and takes you back to another era. Enjoy the high quality rooms, the thoughtful personal service, the beautiful architecture and interior design, not to mention the amazing Café Imperial.

Made the reservation on-line. Asked for a king non-smoking, quiet room. I had corresponded by e-mail with the reservation manage, Jilka, who was very polite and helpful. When we arrived for our 8-night stay, the gracious woman at the desk advised we had a king bed and a quiet room. Our room was very large with a sitting area, two large windows, two toilets on the 4th floor rear of the hotel. Extremely quiet and comfortable. The staff, from the reception desk, concierge, dining room, bar, and drivers, were courteous, professional, gracious and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to any and everyone. It is conveniently located without being right in the middle of the tourist areas.

Room Tip: Ask for what you want. I asked for a quiet room and they were very accommodating.

We used this hotel as a base for a weekend break. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The concierge provided consistently valuable help and advice and the bar staff were skilled and very attentive.
The rooms are large and decorated in the Art Deco style. The beds, pillows and bedding were very comfortable and there was no problem with ambient noise - three good nights' rest!
The breakfast was a continental buffet with Anglo-American breakfast options. The restaurant staff were friendly and on the ball.
We would stay there again.
As in many countries, remember that a few words in the language ( in this case, Czech) goes a long way to helping you get that extra warm reception.

Stayed here for three nights with family.

Pros:
-Comfortable bed and bedding. Four pillows, and a comforter that is soft without that ridiculous rough top that some hotels have.
-Concierge is responsive and efficient. We asked for a tour guide, and they found one in less than 24 hours. She was knowledgable and friendly. Concierge also has umbrellas available to borrow.
-Long golden floor to ceiling curtains are dramatic and elegant
-Bathroom is clean and spacious with lots of counter space
-Flat screen TV in room is mounted to wall
-Heavy wooden doors
-Breakfast buffet offers a selection of fruits, meats and breads.
-Walk 15 minutes- pretty much down one road- to reach the old town square

Cons:
-The toiletries are made in China and were of low quality- it would be nicer if they were European
-The view is nothing special

Yes, I'd recommend this hotel.

We were met at the train station after coming from Berlin. We had organised the hotels S class Mercedes to pick us up (do this as you will be surprised at how little it costs) On the drive to the hotel, the driver told us a bit about the city and sights we were passing. He was polite and well spoken, as were all the staff. When we arrived at the hotel it was all we expected and more. This is no mass produced chain owned hotel. It has a style and presence of a bygone era. After checking in, we asked the concierge to arrange a booking in the restuarant for us that evening, even though it is one of the busiest places to eat in Prague he managed to arrange this for us. And the food, well thats another story all together all I can say is leave room for desert especially the chocolate bomb surprise!
The suite we had was a good size and well appointed. The only criticism I can give is the bathroom was a little small, but that is a very minor issue. Overall the four night we stayed here were totally enjoyable and are a highlight of our 3 week European vacation.

Room Tip: Corner suites get the afternoon sun, which was nice in spring.

We stayed at this hotel on the last leg of a Danube cruise. I would avoid the place.

The accommodations are a little better than adequate with the quality of the restaurant lacking. If you like cold runny scrambled eggs, indifferent service and servers, and other shortcomings this is your place!

The concierge was the only bright spot. Her help and knowledge was superb.

The hotel staff was adequate.

The in room coffee was awful. A tube of Nestlé coffee that was premixed with powdered cream was tasteless. They had a note that if you wanted more they would charge for it.

They did not charge for the Internet and that service was quick and world class.

The location is okay.

I would rate this as a three star so if you are looking for over the top service and all......this is not your place.

We stayed at the Imperial for three nights prior to a river cruise. We upgraded to a larger room and loved it. The room was somewhat dark, but I've come to expect that in European hotels. The room had a king bed, sitting area, built in cupboard/closet, and a desk. It also had a huge bathroom with separate tub and shower along with a separate half bath (toilet and sink) as you entered the room.

Service was outstanding from the moment we checked in until we checked out. Convenient location for shopping, train station, hoho bus, etc.
