“Don't go there.”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

With an alleged 4 stars (not referring to the neighbouring 3-star edifice) and a price range (double room) from EUR 119-140, all we can say is:

Don’t go there. Seriously.

Arriving with a group of 16 people at 3pm, we find that the rooms still are not available. Politely asking about this at front desk (and mentioning that we had booked as of 12:00), we get a very rude, aloof and arrogant “rooms ready at 4pm!” as a reply.

By 4pm we find we’re actually lucky that we at least now have keys – at least in comparison to the many other new guests, who people the lobby on couches, chairs and the floor – waiting for their rooms.
One of the three small lifts is broken, so getting up to the floors and the finally available rooms turns out to be not all that easy, either.

Arriving at our floor, I am almost convinced there is a pool, after all – because of the intense stench of chlorine on the floor - and in our room.
Fresh air is out of question, because not only is the handle of the window broken, it is actually ripped out of the frame and hangs there dangling.
The fridge does not work, but then again ours is empty, anyway (some people in the group at least have some bottles in their –warm- fridges).
The TV is broken, the door is paneling off on the inside and the sink is damaged (but can at least still be used).

P.S. You find the following on the hotel’s homepage: “After complete refurbishing the hotel rooms are fitted with modern furniture and equipment. Business rooms are equipped with a TV with programmes transmitted by satellite, radio, safe, mini-bar, and telephone with direct dialling. Each room is air-conditioned and the temperature can be regulated according to the guest's comfort. The hotel suites, in addition, have stylish furniture, antiallergic wooden floors, and fully equipped bathrooms. Both the hotel and the rooms are equipped with modern fire-prevention systems.”

--> To make it short: don’t go there.

The hotel is an old soviet building with little make up. TV and phone were from the 80's, air conditioning didn't work so I had to sleep with the window open, I could hear very well throughout the night people parting in a nearby penthouse.
WiFi is not free, it's an additional 5 EUR per day.
I definitely don't recommend !

This hotel is very bad. We got it from a special offer ... but the quality was very low and staff were no kind. The breakfast was so and so. The room was dirty and the bathroom was awful!
I tried to have my money back ... but groupalia is awful like the hotel.
We knews that the hotel was 4 stars but everywhere there is a sign with 3 stars (see pictures). And also 3 stars are too many for this bad place.

Rooms are supposed to be air-conditioned but instead it's the heating that works, even in the middle of the summer- I couldn't sleep for the 3 nights I was there because my room was like a sauna.
if you open the window it's so noisy that you can forget about sleep.
Leaking tubs in the bathroom- they promised to repair but didn't.
Rude and unpleasant reception staff
Stay away if you can!

Room Tip: Go to another hotel:)

staffs were unfriendly, and even being very rude to their customers. staffs are not fluent in English, so you might have hard time conveying your opinion. 30 minutes before check out, i found out that my suit case's wheel was missing, and asked the hotel for explanation and compensation. at the point of check in, i came into the room, dragging the suitcase with its wheel and i let it sit there for two days, but all of a sudden i end up with a suitcase missing a wheel? plus, i couldn't find the missing wheel anywhere in the room, probably meaning that someone who has an access to the room (other than us) have removed it. we asked the hotel for the explanation, but they kept laying the blame on the chamber ladies and insisted us to talk to them, who speak absolutely no English. staffs in hotel even called me and my friends a liar (yes, they actually used the word) and responded with rude behaviors. of course we weren't expecting full coverage for my ruined suitcase, for no one could clearly figure out what had happened to the suitcase. However, we did expect them to do be sorry and do their best in helping us to get a new suit case in unfamiliar city. but instead they insulted me and my friends, just like other reviews i have read here. if you are thinking of staying in this hotel. i seriously recommend you to reconsider it. this hotel is the worst part of my memory in Prague.

but on a good tram line into town which is easy to use and costs peanuts. The room was a bit cramped, we had three single beds in a room that I would class as a small double but it was clean and the beds were very comfy not a lot of storage but ok for a three night stay. We had lovely food at dinner and breakfast. The only dissapointing bit on the food front was the puddings (small square tasteless and bland cakes) however there are some excellent restaurants in town so I wouldn't dismiss the hotel as a base

Room Tip: We were on the seventh floor and had no noise problems

having booked a trip to this hotel and read other traveller reports i dreaded going there, but the other guests who wrote reports must be professional wingers. the hotel is basic clean and the food plentiful with lots of choice so all in all a good place to stay with its travel connections to the city centre.
