We were so glad we picked this hotel. It was perfect for a quiet break up a little cobbled street only a short walk down to Charles Bridge. The room was immaculate and tasteful with an ENORMOUS bathroom and a balcony overlooking an interior courtyard.Breakfast was superb, staff friendly and location perfect. we paid about 120 euros a night with Expedia.

For a relaxed drink go down to Jo's bar about 5 minutes away. For a great cocktail experience and fabulous food go to La Bodeguita Del Medio in the Old Town(go for a lunchtime drink and book a table for the evening while you're there!)

This was my second visit - the first was last month. I did not hesitate to book the same hotel and I was not disappointed. This is a great little hotel, fab bedrooms and bathrooms and a perfect location. The only negative point from last time was that the receptionist (who was training last visit) was a little 'stressed' at times - but still she was great. My mum was extremely impressed and that's all that matters!

My husband and I spent one week at the Hotel Constans in late November. Our daughter, studying in Prague, asked to spend a few nights with us, so we booked a 2-room suite. Our room had a balcony overlooking beautiful red-roof tiled buildings, the Loreto Shrine, and the Petrin (tower, hill?), part of the Hradcany Castle. The bathroom was large, and conveniently comes with a heated towel rack, convenient for drying all our hand-washed clothing. Our two rooms were plenty big as well, although we spent very little time at the hotel. The breakfast selections were terrific: eggs every day-either create-your-own omelette, scrambled, etc, or a chafing dish of fried eggs, for example. The standard choices were fresh fruit, juices, cereals, granolas, yogurts, croissants, pastries, breads, and cold cuts, cheeses, pickles and salads. After we slept 13 hours our first night, right though breakfast, the front desk asked if we'd like them to send the breakfast up to our room! Again, on our last morning, since we had our taxi take us to the airport before breakfast officially was served, they asked if they could pack us up with items to take with us! One warning: the coffee is abysmal. I believe they brew up vats of instant.
The hotel location, in Mala Strana, was perfect. The area itself is made up of little, winding streets-excellent for exploring. We are walkers, and from the hotel location, we found we could literally walk anywhere-from Hradcany to Old Town to Josefov to New Town and everywhere else along the perimeter of the city in the "hills" for spectacular views.
I highly recommend Hotel Constans for a super little hotel at a reasonable rate right in the middle of the most beautiful city I've ever seen. And, there are plenty of excellent coffee shops near and far to compensate for the hotel's brew.

Stayed at this recently renovated hotel in mid October 2005. The room was very large and well furnished, the bathroom was the largest I have seen outside US resort class hotels. The Constans is a European hotel, i.e. there is a very good cold breakfast buffet each day, but the lobby area is very understated. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. Note to female travelers- forget high or even mid heels. Prague is a walking city, and almost totally cobblestone. Heels tend to get caught between the stones.

We had a wonderful stay at this small hotel, situated in a very quiet area of Prague, (close to American Embassy...lots of police checks). It is close to Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. Very, very central and no car needed.
The two rooms we had were both top-notch...large, clean and just renovated. Breakfast was great with lots of choice...fruit, salads, breads, cheeses, cold cuts and eggs. We did not dine in restaurant.
The staff were extremely helpful and even packed us a take-away breakfast when we left at 6:30 am.
We also negotiated a very good rate as we asked to stay another night. Half of the posted rate.

After going through a tiny entrance and a tiny reception, we were astounded to walk into a huge room and a huge bathroom. Everything was spotless clean, and I loved the modern bathroom.

Just a few minutes walk from St Nicholas Church and many good pubs and restaurants on Nerudova Street, the hotel itself is on a quite street.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and October and I would definitely come back again. It is located fairly near the castle and is a short walk - probably less than 10 minutes - to the Charles Bridge. You do need to walk up a fairly steep hill to get to the hotel. Everyone that worked at the hotel was friendly. The room was very nicely decorated and spacious. I thought the breakfast was fine.

I recommend eating dinner at U Mecenase (location: Malostranske Nam 10). It is a three minute walk from the hotel and had great food. The restuarant has a great setting as it is situated in a wine cellar built in the 1500s.
