“The Noughties Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

A group of 8 of us, all of a 'certain age', spent a long weekend in Prague in mid September.
The hotel staff were very helpful and the service was excellent. The location was ideal and it helped when we discovered that because of our retired status, tram and bus fares were half price!
The hotel itself was modern and very clean and nearby restaurants were also very good.

Room Tip: Could not really find any faults

We booked this hotel on the recommendation of a regular visitor to Prague and poster on the forum. We arrived around 9pm and booked in quickly and given the room 316. The room was fine. Ok size, very clean, plenty of storage space and quiet. I had seen some photos before we went there and I was a bit worried that we would have one of the tiny rooms that someone had posted a photo of but our room was great.
The staff in the hotel are all very pleasant and couldn't have been more helpful. We were given a map of the city when we checked in which we hadn't even thought about bringing and it was used a lot. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar at the end of the night and the lady running the bar was so lovely as was the night watchman/security?
I didn't realise that we could ask for a tray with tea and coffee for the room but to be honest we didn't miss having one in the room. We went down for breakfast only on the first morning and pretty much the same as what we've had when we've been to Krakow. Nothing special so we didn't bother again but that's not a criticism just not what we enjoy for breakfast.
Hotel Pav is in a great location too.......not too far away from the main areas of the city.
We had an evening flight and check out time is noon but we were able to leave our luggage in a room and head off for the day knowing that our things were safely locked away in a room.
We would definitely recommend this hotel if you're after something not too fancy with great staff.

Our exceptional visit to Prague was due to the folks at the Best Western Pav. The staff at reception were so helpful in arranging sightseeing and evenings out as well as giving advice on using the tram and metro systems. They also kept us stocked in tea and coffee for the room. Just ask for a tray!
Our room (#419-king bed) and bathroom were immaculately clean and comfy, including a desk and chairs.. The room was large and comfortable, quiet and well supplied with all the necessities. Our view from the window was over the rooftops of Prague.
The hotel is right next door to U'FLECKU (open 9:00 to 23:00), the oldest beer garden in Prague, founded in 1499.
The restaurant on the corner near the hotel has a delicious and varied menu and discounts meals 10% with a coupon from the hotel. Just ask at reception.
The breakfast buffet is huge with numerous items from meats and cheeses to hot dishes, yogurts, amazing bread, cereals, and coffee cake as well as fresh fruits, juices, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The staff in the breakfast room replenish foods as quickly as they are needed and keep the tables cleared as quickly as guests leave.

Everyone, reception, cleaning, and breakfast staffs made us feel welcome. The location of the hotel is excellent. We will stay here again on our next visit to Prague.

Room Tip: Ask for Room #419. BTW this visit is our third to Prague, this time celebrating our 50th anniversar...

A good low budget hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights. Nice economical breakfast. Good family size room where 2 adults and 2 kids can stay comfortably. Public transport was also very nearby the hotel.

Just returned from a 2 week trip to Europe. We stayed 4 nights in Prague at the Pav Hotel room 117.

The room was a good size and well maintained. It did show it age a bit but overall in good condition. The bathroom was a very good size and had all the personal care items required. The room was cleaned well on a daily basis, no complaints on cleanliness. Breakfast is included and although it is not a traditional North American buffet there is lot's to choose from so you will not start the day out hungry.

The lobby bar is nothing fancy but the service is good and the prices very reasonable.

The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge and old town.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not a 5 star property but a solid 4 in my mind for the price.

The hotel was clean and a good value with a huge breakfast and nice patio. However, it was not air conditioned and during the hot September, we had to leave our windows open at night - no fans in the room either. The very popular U Flecki bar next door is open all night long and folks sing in the street all night long. TRULY! We did not get a single good night's sleep in 6 nights. This is a historic bar, and bars do not have closing times in Prague - nothing that can be done. So, if you stay, make sure you are as far away from the bar as possible!

Room Tip: Far away from the bar is the best choice. Also, use AAA taxi to get there from the airport.

Well, i think that the high price for the hotel is determined by its great location in the historic centre of Prague, but that's all there is to it. The staff was good as well, but not excellent. The elevator was broken when we arrived, our room faced some wall, the window couldnt be opened, the room itself was avarage.
