“'Doors and Bar noise'”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Had rooms 3 and 4 on the ground floor! No doors between accommodation and public areas i.e. Bar. All hard surfaces, so noise reverberated all through the ground floor. Reception staff were very dour. No welcome at all. Wednesday and Friday mornings we were awakened by what sounded like trollies being moved through the courtyard at 7 a.m. This went on for about 20 minutes. A part from this, the Hotel is in a good position and all sites of interest are walkable. Rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Room Tip: Dont be allocated a room on the ground floor

Quick simple and to the point:

Positives: Price: This hotel was quite cheap, considering it's amenities and location
Location: Not quite in city center, but in Prague everywhere is close. I got to this hotel from the airport using one bus and one sunbway. As for getting to your attraction, the major tram lines are close to the hotel and the walk to the town square is a pleasant 10 minute one.
Restaurants: This hotel is right next to U Fleku, an awesome pivovar. This is a must on you trip to Prague. Great beer, great food and the atmosphere is phenomenal. Additionally, the breakfast is a big buffet with traditional Czech breakfast food (might not be in taste for some Americans). I was very pleasantly surprised the their breakfast offerings.

Cons: Staff: The staff is typical for Europeans. They look down on you and are always wondering why you are bothering them. This was true for all workers, from the reception to the breakfast waiters and the cleaning staff. You just have to get used to this

This was a great place and I would recommend it to everyone traveling to Prague.

This hotel was really clean, very central to the Wenseslas Square, and staff were extremely helpful. We only did bed abnd breakfast the the food outside the hotel is really cheap and very acceptable. Can be very cold in Prague, so take a warm sweat shirt . there is loads to see and do and the history of the city is really good and the architecture is amazing. take a river trip and visit Charles Bridge., if you have the chance visit Koblenz. really heart rendering and gut wrenching.

Room Tip: take really comfortable walking shoes. an absolutely fabulous trip. try and go sunday to friday to m...

First the positives:

The hotel is in a good location, within easy walking distance of Stare Mesto and close to several tram routes. There are also some good restaurants nearby.

The room and bathroom were very large. Decoration was basic but the room contained everything we needed (although a fridge would have been useful). Things were in good condition and everything was clean. There was also free wifi, which worked well.

Now the negatives:

The room did not have air conditioning. You can borrow a fan from reception.

The hotel is next to several bars, including the well-known U Fleku. We were unlucky enough to have a room facing the street. It was very noisy late at night. If you are booking this hotel, definitely request a room away from the street.

The staff seemed quite grumpy and inefficient. The room was not cleaned one day.

Some of the towels that we were given had holes in.

Breakfast was included but the selection was poor and many of the items weren't particularly nice.

We think that this hotel is not up to the usual Best Western standards. If we return to Prague, we would not stay here.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the street!

We had a lovely 4 nights in this hotel. We were over for a wedding & most of our friends stayed closer to Old Town so we did spend a lot of time walking. It took us about 15 minutes to get to Old Town Square. We felt this was very manageable. We really didn't spend too much time in the hotel but our experience was very positive!

We had a big room which was nice, a big toilet too which was spotless! Very nice breakfast. The girls on reception could be just a little warmer, little doubt about that but hey, if I'm on holiday I only see them checking and checking out so it's not a big deal. No air-con so if you hate the heat then be warned (or be warmed) as the rooms can get hot. Outside noise can be bad but that is no fault whatsoever of the hotel.

This is a nice hotel well located for the sites of Prague. We stayed during very warm weather and slept with the window open (3rd Floor). The noise from the street was very loud and at times incessant due to taxis blowing their horns to people generally shouting and screaming until the early hours. There is a large popular establishment next door as well as bars and hostels in the area. We stayed for 5 nights and managed to have our earliest sleep at about 2.00 a.m. The hotelier has no control on this situation but possibly the installation of air conditioning instead of supplying noisy fans may help. We could then sleep with the window closed. We will not use it again.
