Just returned from a 3 day Christmas visit to Prague. Stayed at this lovely, charmimg and quaint hotel. Not a clue what the other people were on about. The hotel is totally safe and the staff are very very helpful.
I had emailed the hotel a couple of times prior to the trip and replies were prompt and helpful. We arrived late Christmas Eve. The reception is only manned between 7am and 7pm. This was not a problem. We used the intercom. It was answered straight away. Within minutes we were in our room.
Rooms are small but totally adequate - don't forget this is the narrowest building, so what do you expect. Room was very clean and warm, which was great as it was -14 at night. Good hot powerful shower ! Bed was so comfortable- good firm mattress !
Breakfast is basic but again adequate. Hot and cold choices and you can eat as much as you want.
The location of this hotel is simply the best. At one end of the road you are at Charles Bridge and the other end Old Town Square.
Keep away from Old Town Square bars etc - total rip off. Tried Caffrey's Irish Bar and regreted ordering food. There are so many small places that serve great food and drink and a third of the price.
Take a walk over Charles Bridge and wander down a side road. You'll find a little Czech bar with the atmosphere and value for money you want.
There is no where like Prague for Christmas. BEAUTIFUL !
The transport system is easy to use. Due to the fact we were so late we got a taxi from the airport. Only use AAA yellow cabs with their phone number on the side. You will find a kiosk at the airport. Cost 500cz. For the return journey however, we got the metro and bus. You can get a transfer ticket for 26ckz. Machines easy to use. Make sure you validate your ticket.Metro and bus very efficient. From Old Town it's just 3 stops to metro terminus then walk over the road to the 119 bus stop.
We will be going back to Prague. Had 3 busy days but still loads more we want to do and we will definitely use the Hotel Clementin again.

We were shocked to find how unsecure this hotel is. In the middle of the night, we heard our door unlock and open. We woke up to see a man dressed in black with a cigarette in his mouth walking into our room. my husband yelled for him to leave and I started screaming at the top of my lungs. I was so loud that other guests in the hotel called "24 hr reception" (which is actually NOT in the building but 10 minutes away) because I was screaming so loud. The man kept taking steps until my husband charged at him. We were traumatized and terrified and dialed 0 on our phone. The person at the other end told us that we just had to wait until the receptionist arrived in the morning. We were shaking and I was crying. The hotel said security buzzed him into the hotel because he gave a name of another guest, but could not explain how he got a key to open up our room. They did not answer any questions, did not call the police, even though they had security cameras they could not tell us what had happened - it was very suspicious. They offered us a taxi ride to the train station when we departed, but I said they needed to do better than that. So then they offered to transfer us to their sister hotel where they DID have a 24 receptionist. I would never recommend staying there knowing that something really terrible could have happened to us or any other guests. Please don't risk it, the hotel us not secure.

Arrived at hotel after delay at airport in time to meet only member of staff leaving having closed hotel for the evening only to be told that there was a problem with the booking (the booking was made in August and an email was sent the day before arrival to confirm by the hotel). We were left outside the hotel with cases in minus 20 degrees for half an hour whilst a taxi was ordered to take us to another hotel on the other side of the bridge. We were offered no access to the hotel, no information, no apology. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

Booket through Prague st over the internet and received excellent service throughout.
A good pair of walking shoes required.
If travelling on the trams make sure you have a good station map.
Beware in some restaurants as you will be charged for items you did not order. e.g bread. They do not like to give change.
Overall a good place to visit.
Good service and delicious steak in restaurant Novotneho lavka and price.
Excellent food and service price in restaurant Klementinum.

I was looking forward to stay this hotel with my mum. But we only found out that the hotel was full and no place for us, even we've booked ages before!! Receptionist told us that she called many hotels in city to offer a place to stay, and given us a hotel far away from Old Town (it is not far, 3 stops by metro, but we were supposed to stay in Old Town so that we could go anywhere on foot). She wasn't helpful, she disappeared before a taxi picked us up to another hotel.
It was my 3rd time to be in Prague and this is first and such a disaster, felt like they've ruined my journey.

I would NEVER recommend this hotel!!!!!
