Great hotel in a quiete location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Lovely view from the restaurant and the roof terrace. Loved the menu and the food was amazing. Hotel is in a walking distance to all the historic stuff u need to see in Prague. Great castle gardens that are right above the hotel. Just perfect few days I have spent at the hotel

Room Tip: All the rooms are very spacious with lovely decoration

If you stay in Prague (and you should, as it is a beautiful city) then stay here if you can.

Luxurious accommodation in the quieter part of Prague but only a short walk away from the Charles Bridge and the historic centre. The hotel is just below or indeed is part of the castle, with it's own private access.

The staff are very friendly and efficient, breakfast is a real treat with many choices for your selection. Breakfast is now included in the room price - even if it wasn't when you originally booked.

The rooms are beautifully appointed and dressed with the best bed linen, there is even a "pillow menu" to choose from. Our room had an iPod HiFi unit (with music installed) and iPad for your own use. WiFi is also fast and free. Our room (35) came with a large corner Jacuzzi bath, complete with the usual robes and slippers plus the most extensive range of bathroom products I have ever seen.

Our room overlooked the palace gardens from two windows and over the city from a third window, the views were very tranquil.

There is free Tea and Coffee (Nespresso machine) in the lounge area all the time and between 4pm and 6pm there are complimentary light refreshments - including sparkling wine. We even had a small dessert delivered to the room on "turn down", a very nice touch.

If you're driving, it's a bit tricky to find the first time as it is at the end of a dead end alley, if you use GPS the "house" number to use is 4 - but if you get to the little square before (you will be <100m away), park and walk up the alley and the staff will assist you with bags and parking the car.

The roof top restaurant is also highly recommended, we were advised to book it about a month ahead to make sure we got in as it is a popular spot. It is quite expensive but the view, food and service are worth it for a special treat on one night.

Overall an excellent boutique hotel and if we were coming back to Prague we would definitely stay there again - as we didn't want to leave! Highly recommended.

I booked the Golden Well Hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and they were all correct. This is a superb boutique hotel with wonderful rooftop views over Prague. We were given a very warm welcome and tour of the hotel along with afternoon tea on the rooftop by the friendly receptionist.
Our room was delightfully well appointed with lovely little touches of wine with cheese and fruit plate and an evening sweet treat. The view from our bedroom window over Prague was magical. We opened our windows in the morning and heard birds singing in the trees nearby.
The buffet breakfast included in the room rate is sensational, the best of our entire trip and so beautifully presented. The waitresses were very friendly and most attentive.
We had dinner in the rooftop outdoor restaurant and the quality of food and waitering staff is exceptional.
All front reception staff were extremely pleasant, most helpful and friendly.
I would love to stay again and again at the Golden Well, thankyou for a wonderful stay.

The reviews are right on about the accommodating staff and great amenities. The breakfasts overlooking Prague are a wonderful way to start the day. Part of the charm is the out of the way location (a dead-end alley) and being across the river from the main tourist area, while still being a short walk. Those who are driving should be wary - the hotel area is all one-way streets and Google directions are useless. We enjoyed the cold bottle of nice Czech wine waiting in our room and the afternoon snacks offered. We stayed there four nights and were totally comfortable. Upon arriving, we found that their restaurant, noted for both the food and the view, was booked up for a week. Our disappointment was tempered by the realization that dinner there would have blasted our trip budget. Judging from the fancy dress we saw on diners, it is a place used for special occasions.

Room Tip: Ours was only on the second floor and overlooked the entrance alley, but it was still wonderful.

the service here is top notch. the staff are most accommodating and helpful whatever our questions or needs were. the restaurant has very wonderful views of the city and breakfasts are most enjoyable. the hotel area is quiet, and the afternoon snacks are a nice touch.

The airconditioing could be better and more Czech music and more Czech cultural decorations would be nice. these are minor points however..

Overall, an excellent hotel. would return without hesitating.

Prague is beautiful to visit but staying here is magic. The staff really go out of the way to make it special and intimate.

We like walking around cities so we enjoy that it is slightly away from the very busy old town square and Charles bridge. The bonus is that you get wonderful views from our room (41) and the breakfast room/restaurant.

Charming traditional retreat in 16th-century Emperor's residence, set beneath the walls of Prague Castle. This modest collection of little inter-locking houses was once home to Emperor Rudolf II, and later the astronomer Tycho de Brahe. Sensitive renovation - has created a cosy yet refined hotel.
