Great location just off of Republic Square. Easy to walk everywhere, and also very close to both tram and metro stops. Hotel was crowded with a lot of young (high school aged) guests, so a bit loud, but should be expected in summertime. Room was small but comfortable. Beds just okay. Be sure to ask for clean towels each day...we noticed our dirty towels were just being re-hung.

Really enjoyed the stay at Century Old Town (currently an Accor M Collection hotel) for the elegant surrounds, pleasant room & generally friendly staff; plus the location is unbeatable, just one block from Namesty Republic square. You know you're in the right part of town when other 5 star International major hotel chains have chosen the same area for their hotels (one block away is Hilton & Marriott). The first 3 floors (level 2-4) of Hotel Century Old Town are the large Classic rooms with high ceilings- "classic" due to their historic former use as the Bohemian Workers Accident Insurance Office (where Franz Kafka worked on level 2 for 14 years). You can even stay in the room he used to use as an office which is now decorated with memorabilia and photos of his family and lady friends. The 5th floor contains at least one suite and the remainder are the standard rooms, still elegantly furnished and large, but with lower ceilings. My recommendation would be to try for floors 2-4 for a nicer room if the rates are similar. I chose this hotel as they had excellent weekend rates the week I was there - Accomodation in Prague, especially Prague 1 (old town) tends to be exhorbitantly expensive (dearer than Paris or Madrid !) on Fridays & Saturdays (possibly as its so close to the rest of Europe now they've entered the Schengen open borders agreement.). Many restaurants nearby to choose from for dinner, but only a few options for breakfast if you choose not to eat at the hotel. Was easily accessed by Airport Express bus one street away or public transport (well signposted and safe Metro system and busses) from airport or Intercity train station(s). Would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Despite beeing in an old building, everything inside the hotel was very new, modern and clean. The rooms were very comfortable but every day we had to ask for the amenities because they didn't put new ones when they were missing, even the toilet paper ! This was the only inconvenient we had at this hotel. Everything else was very good - the comfort, the cleanliness, the breakfast very complete and the reception staff (there were some negative comments about them in other reviews but we were very well receptioned and they also helped us with information about the city ). We also used the hotel cars to go from the airport to the hotel and again from the hotel to the airport, and the service was excellent with very good drivers and good price. There was a lot of snow all the days we were there and the drivers were very careful. When we arrived we had a big delay in the flight because of the snow and the hotel driver was waiting for us at the arrival lounge. There is also a mall - Palladium Mall - almost next door to the hotel, with different options of places to eat. We did everything walking, even with lots of snow, and we only caught a bus to go to Prague Castle. Prague is a very beautiful city, and with snow it becomes "magical".

Me and my husband and another couple have stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. i have read reviews of the hotel here on tripadvisor that were mixed so we were confused and a little worried. Once we got to the hotel we realised that our choice was perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. the rooms were clean and comfortable. i have to emphesis that we just slept and had breakfast ( that was great) because the purpose of the trip was to explore prague. the location was perfect. 8 minutes walk max to the old towm square and wencless square. we didn't use metro or tram except for prague castle:)
we highly reccomend this hotel that made our trip pleasent and perfect.

1) Upon arrival the check-in procedure handeled by "Petr" was so slow, time consuming and clumsy that I get really annoyed. I just wanted to go to my room as soon as possbile but Petr did not give me the keys for some unknow reason. He clicked and clicked onto his three computers without any obivious reason without any care for me standing in front of reception desk. No feeling for guests at all!
2) I have left some coins on the desk in my room of total value of cca. 5 EUR and when I returned after full day of meetings they wer gone! I did not experience something like this in any other hotel in central Europe! Cleaning lady for room 232 on 5th November should not take them!!! I consider this stealing!
3) In addition I have experienced some other guest complain about the lousy service at the reception. The receptionst almost started to argue with the guest instead of helping him! I have not seen such attitude before!

It looks like all the staff need a lot of training on customer service.

Nice hotel, great location, lousy service. I would recommend to the hotel manager to invest in staff training or to replace them with somebody that cares for the guest and does not earn money from stealing.

BTW: Lunch was great!
