“Not an apartment”
Reviewed June 29, 2008

Thought we had booked an apartment with a kitchen so were disappointed that we did not have access to cooking facilities. It seems that because we had 2 rooms this was considered an apartment. However we found the staff helpful and pleasant and the breakfast substantial. The location is good and it is possible to walk to both the new town and the old town. (about 30 minutes).
We suggest a walk to the fortress to the left of the hotel as an interesting and scenic place without too many tourists.
There are many Czech eating places in the vicinity without going into the centre.

I was in a party of 12 thirty something males on a weekend trip to Prague. The Hotel & Residence Standard was cheap, the staff were cheery, and it surpassed all our expectations. We rented two of the 5 bed apartments, and a room. The apartments were great ... very spacious indeed. The tiger skin couch in one of them was questionable though!!
The location is ideal. On the river side about one and a half miles from the old town square, it is close enough to the action, and far enough away to have a quiet relaxing time too.

Would definitely recommend any one on a budget to give this place a try.

My wife and I spent five nights at this hotel. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms on the fifth floor. It was immaculately clean and well kept. The room was small, but we were in Prague to experience the city, not to spend a lot of time in a hotel room! The staff was courteous and helpful both before we arrived (e-mailed very clear instructions on how to get to the hotel via public transport and offered a pick-up service) and while there. We were given advice on public transport and they arranged our transportation to the airport. The breakfast was very good - lots of variety and tasty. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from Vysehrad, an often overlooked but terrific area that's a great respite from the busier tourist sights. St. Peter and St. Paul Church is an art nouveau lover's dream, and it's a ten minute walk away! (You do have to climb a hill.) The hotel IS away from "the center," but tram 17 (which stops less than a block from the front door) will have you at the center in not much more than five minutes. We're experienced travelers and found this hotel to be a great value.

  • Liked — Good location in that it is NOT in the middle of the tourist rush, but it's right on the Vltava.
  • Disliked — The elevator is small and on the old side - and everyone has to climb a few stairs to get to their room.

I definitely would not recommend this hotel. My family and I took a two-week trip through the Prague, Athens, and Istanbul. Despite the price, the staff here was rude beyond anything I have ever experienced. Staying here is not worth the price especially because there are other places that are equivalently priced without the rude staff. I was so upset by my stay here that I am willing to be contacted by other travelers to discourage them from staying at this hotel.

  • Liked — thought it was terrible
  • Disliked — the staff was incredibly rude

We have just returned home following a wonderful stay at the apartments.5 of us stayed myself and my husband my daughter and her boyfriend and my Mum. We stayed in number 7. The apartment was clean comfortable and big enough for a large family or group of friends. The view from the apartment balcony was beautiful. The tram stops outside and takes you everywhere you need to go 3 goes to the centre 17 to Charles Bridge; they are cheap and easy to use. There are a few good restaurants within easy walking distance serving fab food. I would most certainly stay at the apartments again and would recommend to anyone. Staff there are more than friendly. You can’t go wrong with the standard Room 7.

  • Liked — friendly staff,fabulous location,
  • Disliked — lumpy pillows and glass panelled doors in bedrooms.

Hi Folks,

Quick Summary:
-Excellent service
-Great food
-Fantastic rooms and views
-Very safe area

I promised the Zuzana at the counter that I would write a review for their hotel when I arrived back in Toronto. Four friends and I (all guys) found this place unexpectedly on the internet a few days prior to flying into Prague from Ibiza. This is a great place for about 3-6 friends travelling together to stay at. We ended up staying at their main suite and it ended up costing each of us about a fraction of what we would pay at any hotel AND the apartment was fantastic. It's by no means modern, but it was HUGE yet comfortable; we also threw a party there every night (I don't think the Manager liked us very much).

They also have a restaurant at the premises which has some great hearty food at a great price; $10 USD for a couple of beers, a steak, roasted potatoes, and rice. They also have a small all-you-can eat breaksfast buffet but honestly I never woke up early enough to take advantage of it. BUT...they are so nice that if you would still like the breakfast, they will bring you up the food for you and store it in the fridge!!!

Also, we took the trams everywhere. Very convenient during the days, but at nights it's best to take the cabs. Some cabbies will try to rip you off but stick with the ones that have their meters on and you will be fine.

Definitely check out Bombay Lounge!

Nice hotel faily near the big attractions. The tram takes you to the old town. Huge apartment in a very nice Jugent house for a good price with a nice view over the river Vltava. Good for a family.
