I stayed in November 2012. I read some of the reviews prior to booking which were supportive and I agree with the very positive reviews. My suite was large and comfortable and the street is indeed quiet. I ate in and was not disappointed. The breakfasts are a little limited compared to big hotels but certainly adequate. Very helpful and friendly staff. The spa is at the sister property about 5 mins walk and is great, although the walk home on a cold afternoon tends to take some of the real glow off; this would not be a problem in warmer weather. Great location and a gem of a find and well worth your investigation if visiting Prague.

My husband and I just returned from a Central European trip. We started in Prague, drove through the Czech Republic to Austria and then through Germany and back to Prague. We agreed on the ratings of the following hotels and restaurants...

Lobby: appropriately sized, cozy, well decorated - staffed at all times of day

Room: Excellent! Crystal chandeliers in each room, including the bathroom; large and comfortable bathroom - marble flooring in bathroom; the furniture is classy and fancy. The bed was on the firm size but very comfortable. Spotless in terms of cleanliness

People: Incredibly helpful and catering to your every need - one woman at the front desk helped search for a store that was selling a particular product I desired. They help with bags, which is not always seen in hotels in Europe (at least from what I experienced).

Pool: there is a pool at the sister hotel and we went to see it - it is cute; honestly, do not go to Prague to swim! We did not have time to swim as there is so much to see and do

Food: Breakfast consists of a small buffet and an a la carte menu that offered several types of eggs and even french toast - it was one of the best breakfasts we had on our trip - the juices were fresh, the eggs were amazing, etc.

All together, this hotel is a winner!

We are just returning from a 5 night stay at the Alchymist Residence Nosticova and have nothing but great things to say about this place that we strongly recommend if you visit Prague.
It is located in a small, quiet street in Mala Strana, close to excellent restaurants such as Konirna, 6 minutes walk from the famous Charles Bridge, close to the Palace, Petrin Hill and so many lovely places. EVERY staff member is smiling, helpful, kind, I've never felt so much kindness in a hotel before!
The place itself is beyond any expectations : beautifully decorated, gorgeous details, you feel transported in another century with all these luxurious golds and reds, we loved it. We had booked a Junior suite and were given the Casanova suite on the second floor. Spotlessly clean, gigantic king bed, super duper comfy, the room was super warm which was much appreciated as it was pretty chilly outside; the bathroom was spacious, heated so you felt super warm in the morning, everything looked...like new!
Every evening, we would find a cute little box with 2 chocolates on our bed, lovely attention ;-)

Breakfast is taken in a beautiful dining room from 7.30am to 11.00am and offers a decent and very fresh selection of french bakeries, bread, jams, cereals, fruit juices etc... You can also order extra things such as eggs any style from the menu.
It is very quiet, very relaxing, everybody smiles at you with so much kindness, it's priceless.
For those of you who like a little bit of glamour, famous celibrities who have stayed in this hotel include Johnny Depp, Liv Tyler, Vin Diesel, Gérard Depardieu and many others I can't remember the name right now.

If I was to go back to Prague, I would choose to stay here again. The other side of the bridge is nice but so so so crowded with tourists that it was really cool to get back to our quiet street and hotel for a rest after a long day of walk and still being so close to Old Town Square.
Thank you to everyone for having made our stay sooooo special, we loved your hotel, thank you!!!!

My husband spends much of his working life in hotels all over the world and so is always a little reserved about holidaying in one, but after only 10 minutes of walking through the door even he had to admit this was a huge find!

A stunning hotel with exceptional staff.

Very clean and beautifully spacious rooms and suites.

It is surprisingly close to the Charles Bridge and only a short walk to most attractions or the tram and metro stops if you are feeling a little more adventurous...however, despite its proximity to the centre of everything it is set in a quaint yet quiet street. There are quite a few excellent local restaurants and cafes worth trying in the locality too.

The staff could not have been more approachable and nothing was too much trouble; concert tickets, cabs, maps and advice on where to go. We tried the restaurant which was an experience to behold - a beautiful mirrored room - very good food and some great friendly banter with the staff. Breakfast was also really nice with a good choice.
Make sure you check out their website as they have many excellent offers on short breaks....superb in every context and highly recommended!

What a great find this hotel is. Less than five minutes walk from the Charles Bridge, but on a quiet residential street with good restaurants close by. We arrived very late at night, but the welcome couldn't have been nicer. Our room was spacious and luxurious and the bathroom well-appointed. The room was also warm, which was a relief as Prague was starting to get a bit chilly. We were so glad we didn't opt for a hotel on the other side of the bridge - so busy and noisy all the time! The staff are delightful and were very helpful when we asked for restaurant recommendations. We'd definitely return and would recommend it to others.
