“Best hotel in Prague”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

This is a lovely little boutique hotel in central Prague, just a few minutes from the Charles bridge. Rooms are beautiful and the hotel staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. Attention to very detail and impeccable service all through our stay. Next time we go to Prague we will definitely be back at Residence Nosticova.

The staff of this hotel is what made our stay the most memorable out of our three week European adventure. Lucie, the hotel manager, really has a heart of gold and helped us through some terrible personal circumstances that happened during our trip. But all the staff are genuine, friendly, helpful people who go out of their way to help make your stay enjoyable. The front desk staff gave us recommendations for restaurants and things to do - we took their advice and had some delicious dinners and memorable experiences in Prague! We highly recommend this hotel for an old world elegance that is beautiful, clean, well maintained, unique and friendly!

The hotel is on a quiet street about a 5 minute walk from the main area. The rooms are luxurious in a palace or estate sort of way. Old fashioned in case that is not your thing. The pictures on the website are an accurate portrayal. Sometimes when you see pictures like those, the real thing is old, musty and in need of renovation. Not the case here. I usually find something to critique but I could not as the hotel was superb. Service was fantastic. The front desk was very helpful. Buffet breakfast was very good and you can order eggs and other things from the kitchen included (my only complaint was that our first morning no one offered us eggs or something from the kitchen, which we found out the second day was available and included). One side note, there is a park a couple blocks down the street. You would miss the entrance on the corner and think it was someone’s home. Its small but pretty to walk or sit, and it’s a short cut back to the Charles Bridge area.

My husband and i stayed at the Alchymist Residence Nosticova for our honeymoon and found the place to be excellent.
We had organised with the hotel to pick us up at the airport due to a late arrival, this worked well and we had no issues with the driver waiting when we arrived.
The staff at the reception were so kind and helpful. I cant remember the guys name when we arrived but i cant speak highly enough about him. He was proffesional with a hint of fun about him. Due to arriving late we had not had dinner but he gave us a great recommendation for a local resturant around the corner.
Our room was amazing we had the top floor to ourselves which over looked the garden. We had room Alžběta, which i would highly recommend asking for. The room is set out in traditional Prague style with large draping curtians and big bathroom. We had a nice view of Prague Castle in the sitting room on the same floor (which even if you dont have a room up on this floor it worth climbing the stairs at night for a good look. The bed was so comfortable probably one of the best we have had since arriving in Europe 3 weeks ago. The room was very clean and tidy everyday.
The hotel location is very private and close walking distance to the famous Charles Bridge. We didnt need to use transport the whole time we were in Prague and found walking very easy (make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes heels are a no no).
Breakfast was nice but probably nothing to rave about maybe skip breakfast and have it somewhere in town would be my recommendation.
Dana (i think that was the ladies name at reception), was so helpful and very friendly any questions we had she answered straight away.
If we come back to Prague we would definatly stay here again.

Room Tip: Try get a room on the 4th floor.

I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms enormous, the location amazing and the staff wonderful. A special thank you to the front desk staff Dasa and Martin who went above and beyond in trying to make our stay memorable and special. From the second we stepped into this hotel until the moment we left, the experience was out of this world. I will NEVER stay in another hotel in Prague and absolutely can not wait to return!

We chose the Alchymist Residence Nosticova purely because it was the number one rated romantic hotel on Trip Advisor and we can see why it deserves this accolade. We were given room number 1, one of two rooms on the ground floor. Usually, I would hate to be given a room next to reception thanks to the anticipated noise from guests arriving and departing, street noise and lack of privacy but there was nothing to worry about! Behind the door was a kind of airlock vestibule with another, glass-panel door, ensuring privacy for sleeping in and well, you know! The 16-room hotel dates from 1627 (or maybe 1657) and is situated on a private street, surprisingly free of noise so my fears were groundless. There is a lift, but having a room next to the front door made it faster to get in and out every day.
We never did eat any meals in the restaurant but had an evening drink in their tranquil walled courtyard garden across the street.
Our lovely front desk girl - Dasia (I think) went out of her way to suggest a beautician for me and where I could get the soles of my high heel sandals resoled (the cobblestones are picturesque but hell on heels) and helped us work out transport plans and suggested great restaurants, too. As a sidenote, we were amazed that it cost only $1.60 to get from the airport to the city on the bus, and then the tram, which stops one block away.
If you fancy a short walk, The Little Whale is very friendly two-man operation restaurant with wonderful food.

Room Tip: Room one (the one with the gilt-edged four-poster) is divine.

Excellent hotel situated in Mala Strana near US Embassy in a quiet street just few minutes walk from Charles Bridge and the Castle. Spacious rooms are very elegantly furnished. All the spaces of the hotel and spa are superbly decorated. Luxurious place to stay and enjoy this wonderful city even better! The price corresponds to the quality however almost once recommended to try and enjoy this unique experience.
