... a very romantic hotel, offering great service and a location that is just perfect. Very important sight of Prag is within easy walking distance while the surrounding area is calm during nights.

This is a really lovely old hotel in a great location (5 minutes to Charles Bridge) with some really nice shops, bars and restaurants nearby.
The room was more than comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast decent.
Compared with some of the more touristy areas of the city this is in a really lovely peaceful part of town but still easily within walking distance of the main attractions.
I wouldn't hesitate to boo here again on our next visit.

The hotel looks old, comfortable and romantic as does the suite we stayed in. But the room was not cleaned prob. as there was dust on the window frames, cobwebs on the doors and hairpins(that a vacuum really would have removed) under the bed. the hotel website promises a whirlpool, sauna and a bar available at the hotel(among other things), when asked in the reception these were not available at the moment. The breakfast buffet was decent with okay variaty and the standard white semidry bread found at hotels worldwide, but sunday when we slept in a bit and didn't get to the buffet until 45 mins before it closed, along with most other guests it seemed, the staff didn't restock the buffet leading to shortage of most items fairly quickly. Good coffee and tea though and the nespresso in the room was good. Location is really good.

Room Tip: the suite 201 has a very nice view of the castle and limited noise from the outside service restaura...

I stayed at the hotel in early August 2012. The hotel location is good and the room was decent (had a great view). Even the breakfast was good. However the customer service was dreadful and un-friendly. The management was bigoted, anti-American (even though I was not American he still tried to insult me for being American) and really unreasonable. This is what happened - I thought the coffee was free, I explained that I did not realise that it was not free (there was no sign to tell me on the first day, but then one appeared). They said once I pointed it out that they will not charge. At check-out they try and charge me, I said we had discussed already there would be no charge. Then a barrage of insults come my way! "Americans not welcome" "You are an American idiot" etc etc. They try to intimdate me to pay, but I am too principled for that. Eventually did not charge me for the coffee and I got a very rude goodbye, including the guy asking to fight me outside. By that time I was giving a few insults back to him. Very strange experience. Completely unnecesarry by them. Maybe it was just one of those days for them, but still no excuse

Just stayed at the nice family run U Pava. Really nice and clean place, and in a fantastic location. a few minutes walk to the Charles Bridge, and looking up at the majestic Prague Castle. Staff were excellent and helpful. Rooms were big, and everything you may need was provided. The decor inside may shock some with the paintings all over the walls and the stained glass windows, but it all just adds to the fantastic character of the place. This and having a parking place right outside, just can sell this hotel to you. If you find yourself heading to Prague, I would say to try this place.

This was my first visit at U Pava and my 4th trip to Prague. The location of this hotel is excellent. It is convenient and more quiet than hotels closer to the Charles Bridge. My room was very small. I wish I would have requested a change to a larger room. Many of the rooms in this hotel are not elevator accessable. Travelors should confirm whether or not they have/need elevator access. A large gap between the two portions of the bed was a problem. We called it the snake river canyon. Breakfast options were the best I have experienced in Prague. There are two small convenience stores within 5 yards of the hotel and several good czech restaurants closeby. Access to tram stops and the metro are excellent. I would stay there again.

This hotel is located in the Mala Strana district about 2 blocks away from the foot of the Charles Bridge in a very quiet area (Excelent location). Never heard the peacock that a previous traveler complained about. We had a deluxe double room #105, which was lovely! The view was not great, it overlooked the small park like area in front of the hotel on one side and a wall on the other. The room was large, quite, comfortable and looked very much like what was pictured on the website. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The bathroom was relatively large by european standards but rather plain except the beautiful painted window that opened if needed. Each room had a remote controlled air conditioner which we where greatful for because some of the evenings were warm. The receptionist Veronica, spoke good English and was very helpful and kind. The other two gentlemen did not speak much English, but did their best to help. The breakfast that was included was very nice. This hotel is a good value for the money.

Room Tip: Some rooms do not have elevator access. Spa did not appear to be open for use. Look at hotels webs...
