My wife and I spent 4 nights at Pod Vezi.
The hotel is located just by the tower at the western end of Carl Bridge, an excellent location.
It takes 10 minutes walk to the heart of the old town, and less than 15 minutes walk to the castle.
It seems like the nice staff at Pod Vezi thought of EVERYTHING for their guests:
They will arrange transportation to and forth the airport, give you a large clean room with free WiFi, spoil you with something sweet in your room every day (!), sell you tickets to the Metro, book tickets to the theatre, and so on.
All the staff we met were very nice, helpful and efficient.
The breakfast was nice, and the place also works as a restaurant at the evening. Guests at the hotel recieve 15% discount in the restaurant.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Pod Vezi, and hope to get back to lovely Prague one day.

Excellent czech cousine. Quite for sure the most exiciting eating experience in Prague. As everywhere in Prague you eat turistic-way, here you find real taste of excellent food. Such experience you'll never forget.

Pod Vezi (pronounced "Veshi" if you want to impress the taxi driver) is right in the heart of the old historical Prague, just into the Malá Strana and 50 meters from the western end of the Karluv Most (Charles Bridge), one of the must visit landmarks. The hotel is on a split site, two historical buildings with magnificent rooms, great breakfasts and a superb restaurant with discount for hotel clients. Of all the touristy places we ate, this was the best. The service was incredible, even going as far as to find someone at the hotel who knew the Sparta Prague stadium well enough to advise us where to get seats and to give sound advice on good pubs to visit. Rarely have I been this spoilt in a hotel!
Treat yourself! Thoroughly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex, but it was splendid!

this hotel truly was all it professed to be .from booking our stay to using the service that booked our taxi from the airport (well worth doing via the hotel ),we were met at the airport by a very helpful taxi driver who advised us on sights to see and transport . my husband and myself stayed here for three nights ,we were in the pod vezi dependance room 114 and from start to finish the staff at this hotel made this a truly memorable holiday.the reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful explaining all aspects of our stay .we arrived late at night to the hotel and were met with an extremely warm welcome.the hotel itself was not only immaculately clean but very well maintained. there was good variety at breakfast again attentive staff.the .hotel restaurant was also excellent .room service left mixed fruit one day little biscuits another day no charge.a mini fridge in the room ,coffee and tea facilities as well as a tray with coffee, tea bags and milk .the location of this hotel was ,in my opinion ,perfect ! we were warned by several people about pickpocketing but did not at any time feel in anyway intimidated even walking around town late at night ,of course common sense must prevail so avoiding most places that you would avoid in any city you didn't know is sensible. eating out is also easy ,most menus have an English translation and the most people speak far better English than i can speak czech,so there was no language barrier .all in all this was a wonderful holiday for my husband and myself and i can not praise highly enough the staff at this hotel ,and i shall return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone young and old ,,. don't hesitate the reviews are honest ,WONDERFUL!!!!

Room Tip: we stayed in room 114 dependence ,no view but very quiet ,so perfect for a good nights sleep

I have just returned from a weekend at this Hotel to celebrate my partners 50th. We were upgraded to a de-luxe room ( 21 ) on arrival. The hotel is a few steps away from Charles Bridge and within walking distance to most places, I am so glad we didn't stay anywhere else. The staff at this hotel are brilliant especially the two Martin's who work in Reception they were so helpful and knowledgeable about Prague, the two Martin's directed us to a bar called The Lokal telling us the beer was the best in the city...It was... 10/10 to them. Another good bar was J J Murphy's the staff were excellent, a special mention goes to Paige who knew exactly when I needed a refill !!
I didn't realise Prague was such an historic city until we did The Ultimate Tour the hotel recommended, it was six hours long but that included a boat trip and a lunch stop, Nina our guide for the day was born in Prague, there was nothing she didn't know about her Home City. If you visit Prague put this on your to-do list.
Ladies....flat comfy footwear is a must you walk for miles and miles.....
Eating out is fairly inexpensive compared to England, there are plenty of cafe's, restaurants, snack bars,take-aways,McDonalds ( although it's cheaper in England ).
Vegetarians may find it difficult to find things to eat in this City, meat is put into most things even scrambled eggs and baked beans !!!
Smokers might be better off bringing their own ciggies to Prague as English Brands aren't that common but they are much cheaper than England I bought mine at The Duty Free in Prague Airport, they worked out to about £22 for 200 for Rothmans and slightly more for Bensons.
Overall I would give my trip 20/10
We both loved Prague and it's people, a return visit is most definitely on the cards.

Just returned from my first trip to Prague where I stayed at the Pod Vezi Hotel. This was a birthday treat and can honestly say was one of the best trips I have ever had for all the right reasons

Let's start with the hotel, all the reviews are true and even better than you read, the location is the best in the city, it's seconds from The Charles Bridge. The staff at the hotel are the most friendly and helpful I have ever met anywhere in the world, the hotel is fantastic in every way you can imagine, if you're looking for a great place to stay look no further. On a personal note to the two Martins you guys couldn't be more helpful if you tried.Thank you for all the help and advice.

I never thought this city would have so much to offer, if you have a passion for culture and history and true beauty visit this wonderful city, four days was not enough honest, already planning our return. Choice of food is limited if you are picky, don't get me wrong you have a choice but you will need to look around if you are not a Pork eater lol, go to Bar Lokal where the beer is great reputed to be the best in Prague, worth a visit if you fancy seeing how the locals live, I must point out SMOKING is allowed in most restaurants and bars, ask for the non smoking section.

There are lots of tours, we did the one recommended by the hotel which was the Ultimate Tour and was worth every penny, our tour guide for the day was Nina she really made it special, it's six hours long but two of those are spent by doing one on the river and the other in a traditional restaurant for lunch which is part of the deal, you also get a tram ride to the castle which helps you understand the alternative travel choice to get around Prague and this was all for 1200 Czech Koruna per person, by far the best value

Last thing bring a good pair of walking shoes because you will need them as well as a good camera, I wish I had brought mine lol

Thank you Pod Vezi we will be back again

Room Tip: Room 21 It was perfect

Stayed here for 3 nights. Booked directly and got a voucher for a three course meal in their restaurant. Location is right by the Charles Bridge on the Lesser Town (Prague Castle) side of the river so a superb location for all of central Prague. The name of the hotel means "under the tower", which it is: the hotel has a free pass to go into and up the old tower. When we got to the hotel they up graded us to what was effectively a suite at the top of the hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable, each evening there was a small gift - chocolates, fruit, small bottle of local fizz. Staff were helpful recommending restaurants on 2 evenings. The three course meal was excellent: literally could have anything off the menu and food is Czech served in a haute cuisine manner. Top tip: for 32 CZK (£1.00) you can use the 119 bus and 20 tram to get from / to the hotel.
