“Good location and clean rooms”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

We stayed at Hotel Pod Vezi for two nights while touring Prague. We were in the Dependence building across the street, but this was no big deal - it couldn't have been more than 50 feet and I thought the extra building was nicer than the main one. The check in was good - a nice greeting - however I felt they went a bit overboard trying to sell a sight seeing tour (we did not take the tour and opted to do an walking audio tour instead as Prague is not huge). Our room was comfortable - very large and a big bathroom. The addition of tea and a kettle was a great plus too (I have found this is not very common in Europe, surprisingly). The bed was nice, however the mattresses were not very thick, so it was not as plush as I prefer. I still slept well. Probably the best things about the hotel are its location (just feet to Charles Bridge and lesser town) and the cleanliness (we felt totally comfortable with this the whole time at the hotel). A nice included breakfast rounded out a comfortable stay in Prague.

Room Tip: Don't worry about the Dependence building - it is quite nice.

We visited Prague in March 2013 for several days and chose the small boutique hotel Pod Vezi for our stay. Booking was a very easy and pleasant experience, with immediate feedback on my e-mails and a good organisation of a pick-up service at the airport (very practical!).

The hotel is absolutely ideally situated right besides the Charles bridge, and you can reach both the town center on the other side of the river and the big castle very easily on foot. All of the main sights are therefor within walking distance, which was for me an important point in choosing a hotel.

The hotel itself is composed of two buildings that face each other, the main building (with a restaurant and where also the breakfast is served) and a "dépendance" or side building where additional rooms are located. We had a double room in this side building and were very pleased with it. The size is absolutely ok (for a hotel of that category it is even rather large), and the bathroom is small but modern and easy to use. We slept very well, and in spite of the central location it was quiet. Everything was spotlessly clean.

The staff of the hotel is extraordinarily friendly, mostly young people who speak English quite well and are very helpful with any query that we had.

The breakfast each morning was a real pleasure - lots of choice in food and drinks, and everything was very fresh and tasteful. Croissants, bredrolls, eggs, sausages, cheese, ham, jam, one day even fresh crêpes, you name it, they have it. - We also tried their restaurant one evening and were pleasantly surprised - far less expensive than many tourist traps elsewhere in Prague, and the food was really good. If you're looking for a special romantic dinner, we can also recommend the "Svata Klara" restaurant that is a bit outside of town in a natural cave 60 meters below the surface.

We can recommend this hotel without reservation. Everything fits here - the price is quite reasonable, the location is great, staff very friendly. I would not hesitate to come back if next time I visit Prague.

Superb boutique hotel steps from the Charles Bridge. Outstanding staff that was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely patient...Thank's Matin and Malin. Excellent buffet breakfast to start your day. Room 21 was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a fabulous view of the Charles Bridge. Room was very quiet due to the double windows.
Prague is an amazing city. As a seasoned traveller, i can honestly say that our stay at the Pod Vezi (6 nights May 2013) is as good as it gets.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Room Tip: Room 21 is outstanding.

I recently spent three days in Prague and at the Pod Vezi. I must say, for personalized service, location and overall satisfaction, theye are no better than this hotel. I would not hesitate to return there should circumstances warrant.

We stayed for three nights in May 2013. This hotel is in a fantastic location right under the tower of the Charles Bridge. Considering the location the hotel was relatively quite. The staff were superb - friendly, knowledgable, and very helpful. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was ample and we enjoyed it sitting outside. The rooftop terrace was fabulous and we enjoyed our complimentary battle of champagne there on our last night. Accommodation wise, the Pod Vezi was the highlight of our European trip.

Why stay anywhere else?
The hotel has one of the best locations in Prague, right at the side of the Charles Bridge, tucked away for peace and quiet yet handy for all those must see places. To the left the Charles Bridge and the Old Town, to the right a pretty shopping street leading to Lesser Town Square, St Nicholas' Church and upward to the Castle. You are just steps away from great views, achingly beautiful buildings and awe inspiring culture. On your doorstep are lovely quiet side streets with friendly bars, good restaurants, hidden squares and magical views. Add in to the mix friendly, informative, bend over backwards staff, a superb restaurant, comfy beds, fab breakfast and free Wi-Fi and you have THE place to stay in Prague.
We stayed in room 34 in the hotel's main building. It was huge - feels like a suite - but booked as a deluxe double. Two single beds joined together as a super king (6 foot/180cm), air con, windows on all sides, fridge etc etc. And don't forget to go up to the roof terrace - the views are great and it's very peaceful after a busy day sight seeing.
It's a 5* experience you don't want to miss.

Room Tip: Book a double deluxe or superior and enjoy what other hotels would call a suite.
