“Great location, great service, great breakfast, good room, helpful friendly staff!”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

I would have to really nitpick to find anything negative about this hotel. The location is perfect as it is quite at night yet only a few steps to the middle of everything. The staff all spoke enough English to make good suggestions about what to do and what not to do. Their free breakfast is excellent, and their menus is excellent. They are close to a couple great restaurants including their own as well as great pizza, bakery, and great beer drinking. Our hotel room was very spacious, up to date, and very clean, and we looked out the window to the entrance to St. Charles bridge. I can't forget to mention the nightly gift from the front desk, plate of fruit, small bottle of sparkling wine, and chocolates when we arrived. I am sure I am forgetting something else great. O yes ATM machine right out the door of the hotel, and u are warned by staff about the process of getting money changed with venders. Don't forget in Prague they want u to pay in Chek Crown's for most everything and many places want cash. Back to the hotel, would love to stay at Pod Vezi again some day!

Stayed in four different hotels during our trip to Prague and Munich, this hotel was by far our favorite. Perfect location, very helpful/friendly staff, and room/bathroom spacious and beautiful! Hotel staff even brought a fruit plate to our room as a "thank you for staying". I strongly recommend this hotel.

Hey I was doing what you were... reading all the reviews. This was my favorite breakfast the entire time in Europe. Fresh oranges that you can juice yourself!!! and poppyseed treats. They upgraded us for free to the hotel across the way. It was nice and cheap and the best location. We tried another hotel near Old town and it sucked compared to this one. Should have just stayed here. Book this. Trust me.

Room Tip: Place across the way was nice.

Hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. The young man working the front desk even brought us wine glasses after the restaurant was closed when he saw us outside with a bottle of wine - the best service we had on our European vacation. The location was excellent as well. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Pod Vezi with two friends for our weekend break to Prague. From the moment we booked, the hotel staff were fantastic. They arranged for us to be picked up from the airport (600czk for the four of us). We stayed on the other side of the square in their annex which they call the Depandance, this was newly opened in July of this year. The rooms that we had in here were very very large not something I would expect for this price in a city centre hotel. Every day we found little gifts in our room, chocolates, fruit, biscuits this was a lovely touch. The hotel location is excellent for sightseeing being right on the end of Charles Bridge, there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area if you want to eat out. The staff are all lovely and the food in the restaurant excellent, we were sorry to leave.
In a nutshell would I recommend it? Yes, Yes, Yes.
Would I go back? Yes, if I am ever in Prague this will definitely be the hotel I book.

A great hotel in a great location (near the Charles bridge) at a reasonable price. Very comfortable room, excellent buffet breakfast, extremely helpful staff and an excellent restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. All major attractions are within walking distance.

We arrived in Prague on September 15th from Berlin by train. The hotel had arranged a pick up for us and the driver met us just where the hotel said he would be, holding a sign with our name on it. The driver was very friendly and helped us with our luggage.Nice start to our visit to Prague. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a very nice young man. He told us all about the hotel amenities and offered help arranging tours. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room. The room (123) was much larger then I expected. It also had A/C and a fan.Being so close to the crowds at the Charles Bridge I was a little concerned about noise, but our room was over the front door of the hotel and back off the street enough that with the windows closed it was qiuet.During our stay the staff were very helpful making resturant reservations and using google to find places that were not on the tourist maps we had.Go up and check out the roof top terrace ,it is a nice place to have a coffee or a glass of wine .(all new furniture in September) The breakfast is one the best I've had in Europe.Scrambled eggs one day , fried eggs another day, boiled eggs every day.sausages ,hot mixed vegatables sometimes bacon ,fresh fruit, pasteries.cereal, yogart.cold meats and cheese, cold vegatables, bread, buns. You can squeeze your own fresh orange juice. You can get regular coffee from the buffet but the waiters will ask if you would like a different kind which they will bring to the table for you .If the main room gets full, there is another lovely room just down a short hall. The waiters will also be in that room to make sure you are taken care of.Some of the people you may see later at the front desk will be in the breakfast room helping out. Chocolates one day, cookies another and fruit the last day were left in our room as a treat. The building is five hundred years old and they have done a great job of remodeling the intierior to make it a pleasant place to stay. The Reastaurant Pod Vezi is located in the hotel. We had a wonderful meal there (seperate review comming ). The location is great .Easy to walk to all the main sites. The walk up to the casle may be hard for some ,so take a trolley. If your in decent shape walk up and take in the sites.on the way up.The management of this hotel have done such a good job in selecting their employees. Everyone of them that we came in contact with truly wanted to do their very best to make our stay at Hotel Pod Vezi the best it possibly could be and to them we thank them very much. I would highly recommend this hotel.
