We arrived in Prague on September 15th from Berlin by train. The hotel had arranged a pick up for us and the driver met us just where the hotel said he would be, holding a sign with our name on it. The driver was very friendly and helped us with our luggage.Nice start to our visit to Prague. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by a very nice young man. He told us all about the hotel amenities and offered help arranging tours. We were pleasantly surprised when we entered our room. The room (123) was much larger then I expected. It also had A/C and a fan.Being so close to the crowds at the Charles Bridge I was a little concerned about noise, but our room was over the front door of the hotel and back off the street enough that with the windows closed it was qiuet.During our stay the staff were very helpful making resturant reservations and using google to find places that were not on the tourist maps we had.Go up and check out the roof top terrace ,it is a nice place to have a coffee or a glass of wine .(all new furniture in September) The breakfast is one the best I've had in Europe.Scrambled eggs one day , fried eggs another day, boiled eggs every day.sausages ,hot mixed vegatables sometimes bacon ,fresh fruit, pasteries.cereal, yogart.cold meats and cheese, cold vegatables, bread, buns. You can squeeze your own fresh orange juice. You can get regular coffee from the buffet but the waiters will ask if you would like a different kind which they will bring to the table for you .If the main room gets full, there is another lovely room just down a short hall. The waiters will also be in that room to make sure you are taken care of.Some of the people you may see later at the front desk will be in the breakfast room helping out. Chocolates one day, cookies another and fruit the last day were left in our room as a treat. The building is five hundred years old and they have done a great job of remodeling the intierior to make it a pleasant place to stay. The Reastaurant Pod Vezi is located in the hotel. We had a wonderful meal there (seperate review comming ). The location is great .Easy to walk to all the main sites. The walk up to the casle may be hard for some ,so take a trolley. If your in decent shape walk up and take in the sites.on the way up.The management of this hotel have done such a good job in selecting their employees. Everyone of them that we came in contact with truly wanted to do their very best to make our stay at Hotel Pod Vezi the best it possibly could be and to them we thank them very much. I would highly recommend this hotel.
