“Good location, nice hotel-avoid the annexe!”
Reviewed July 18, 2014

Located in the Mala Strana district with plenty of restaurants, in a fairly quiet courtyard.
We were allocated a somewhat dingy 'deluxe' room (no. 132) in an annexe of the building. Two beds pushed together with a third, unmade bed in the corner, rather 'tired' furnishings and an unpleasant musty smell. Not impressed!
However, the desk staff were extremely helpful in finding us another room, which turned out to be excellent! So top marks for customer service, but some of the rooms need a freshen up.

Really good location with just 5 mins walk to Charles Bridge and short walk to local amenities. 15 mins walk from castle so just perfect. staff so friendly and helpful. bedrooms clean and well equipped, with decent size rooms. Breakfast was okay, nothing too extravagant. great experience. we would stay there again!

On the face a nice hotel, I was impressed when we first arrived we were put into the annexe off the courtyard, the room although very spacious had an odd musty smell to it & was extremely dark, also you can hear the souvenir shop's music next door it's not a big deal as we were out during the day, it's more of a mild annoyance, the rooms were only cleaned once so we had to request towels, due to the fact that the maid service starts so late. The shower appliance was old but did do the job, the only annoying thing here was the shower tray was not sealed properly so the water was all over the bathroom floor & without proper cleaning began to smell. Breakfast was as you would expect choice of cold and hot but was the same everyday, if you are staying for longer than 4 days could be annoying. The location is good a short walk from the Charles Bridge, the hotel is ok at best, I would not stay here again there are better choices on this side of the river

We had four excellent nights at Hotel Waldstein with my parents. We had a family room for four people which turned out to have a separate bedroom for my parents.

The staff, especially Adam & Therese, were exceptionally helpful and delightful. We arranged a late check out so that we could rest before going to the airport. The room was clean and provided everything we needed including free wifi and a safe. Breakfast was great and the location was perfect, being nice and quiet but central.

We were all very happy. Thank you Adam and Therese.

Room Tip: The family room that sleeps 4 is great value and provides a separate bedroom.

The hotel was excellent value.
Myself and 3 girlfriends stayed in a two bedroom family room for 2 nights.
4 huge single beds and bags of room.
The shower temperature could have been more consistent but that wasn't too much of a problem.
The breakfast was wonderful, excellent selection of fresh foods. Hot and cold!
The staff were super friendly and willing to help with anything!

The most amazing thing about the hotel was the location. 5 min walk to Charles bridge and in an area with lovely restaurants that are far far cheaper and nicer than those over the bridge.

This hotel is a perfect base for exploring Prague!

We stayed in the hotel for three nights. I can honestly say, it was one of the most enjoyable visits I've had in a long time!
The rooms were cheap and clean. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us! (Adam was ace!!). I highly recommend it!!

Overall we thought the Waldstein warranted a 5 star review. We only stayed 1 night as we were going to Karlovy Vary the next day. We arrived late at night and received a warm and friendly welcome and a complimentary bottle of wine - a lovely touch. The room was a good size and had great character being fitted out in period furniture (which was what we wanted), with television and tea and coffee making facilities. It also had free Wifi. The bed was comfortable and with the room being quiet we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was buffet style with a range to suit all tastes.
