We are just back from a fantastic third trip to Prague made all the better by our 2nd stay at the U Prince. This trip we also travelled with my Dad and his partner, their first trip to Prague.

I firstly want to say a huge thank you to Michal Stribrsky and his team who were brilliant from (early) arrival, bag drop and check in, to when we collected our bags at 5pm on our last day. In particular it was lovely to hear a cheery good morning from reception as we walked down the stairs to breakfast in the morning, the friendly breakfast waiter who remembered our drinks, including that my dad liked two teabags in his pot and the hearty good nights as we left the rooftop terrace after a night cap.

For this trip we booked two double rooms and I did email the hotel to ask a few questions and also request rooms with external windows and a view of the square if possible, all emails were responded to and I felt confident we would be happy with the hotel.

On checking in we were really delighted with the allocated rooms, we were on the 3rd floor in 33 and 34 which both overlook the square and the astronomical clock, both rooms had a separate entrance area (brilliant to shut out any corridor noise and a bit of smoke from seating area on landing) to leave coats and a door off to the marble bathrooms, both had a full bath and powerful shower over and the complimentary toiletries include everything you could need for a 3 night stay, particularly useful if travelling hand luggage only!

The bedroom had an opulent feel with heavy wood and window dressings, comfortable large king bed, bedside tables (check out the complimentary ear plugs in case of noise from the square) flat screen TV, mini bar, aircon, wardrobe (with mini safe) and chest of draws. There was also space for a leather wing chair, small table and leather stool. I think room 34 was marginally larger with windows to 2 aspects but 33 was still very lovely!

The hotel in general has lots of places to eat/drink/sit, we did not eat here other than the breakfast which was great as there are so many places nearby, but we made use of the roof terrace and the outdoor seating on the square, and we also went down to the piano bar which was really nice with live piano music. In particular we enjoyed the Mojito Xls and the wine.

So finally, we had a great stay, we had no complaints or niggles what so ever, but this could be down to research ensuring the hotel would suit us and having the right expectations of this small luxury hotel and also of the area it is in.

We would definitely stay at the U Prince again. My father in particular was very impressed with the hotel and Prague in general and has already said he would recommend it to friends and family!

Thank you U Prince!

The U prince is smack Bang in the cebntre of the Old City opposite the famous Clock.
It has old world charm, while still haveing all the modern conveniences. Dozens of restaurants right outside your door, a 2 minute walk from the Charleas bridge. No better choice.

had a short break here middle of feb with my wifes whos birthday we celebrated. (ps please ignore the last negative, he is totally misguided and likes the sound of his computor keyboard). The whole atmosphere was fantastic, roof top terrace, although snowing when we got up there but they haave covered areas for you to sit under with heated lamps everywhere. The staff are very friendly, however there was a blond behind the reception who was cold to your needs, so I treated her the same way she treated me. The room was excellent, room 25, spacious and warm. Bathroom was superb. We went into the black angels bar in the cellar for cocktails every night, these guys know how to make cocktails with all the theatre. One cocktail called a blue blazer was ordered, so all the bar lights went off and this cocktail was ignited and the barman did his magic.
The only thing that stopped me giving it 5 stars was the food; however it was good but the service slightly let it down. On the last day we had lunch and a bottle of wine so they charged us 60czk for two covers and then 150czk for service charge which adds up, but I refused to let that spoil my overall experience. Would we go back?? you bet we would. We only scratched the surface of Prague and will return very soon and to stay at this superb hotel.
There are a thousand and one eateries out there in Prague so go try them.

Room Tip: room 25 was very good check your bill for "add ons" but dont let this spoil your time here.

Dear millie2008,

thank you very much for staying at Hotel U Prince and for sharing your experience.

It is realy nice to read that you were happy in our place. Next time, when you come to see us again, we will convince you that your displeasure with restaurant service was only an exception and as a result of that we will get 5 stars from you. :)

We wish all the best to you on your next journeys.
Best wishes

I stayed at the Hotel U Price last year, and went back again this year. As there was more of us this time round, we stayed in one of the Suites, on the 1st floor, with an amazing view of the Astronomical Clock & Old Town Square. The room was absolutly breathtaking, and had its own balcony with table and chairs outside. The room made us feel like royalty, as it was very grand, with old fashioned and full of character furniture. We all had fantatsic sleeps as the bed was so comfortable.

Again, the staff are so friendly, and they go above and beyond to accomodate.
The food at the hotel was once again, fabulous, and looks just as it is on the menu. The roof top terrace restauraunt is a must-do as the veiws are beautiful, being right in the heart of the Old Town Square.

The hotel is so clean, and the rooms get cleaned out everyday, and beds are made. Such a high standard.

The price for staying is not at all what you would expect it to be. Its a fab price for such high quality bed & breakfast, so most definatly worth the money - AND MORE.

I did not want to leave, and when I return to Prague, I will most definatly stay again. Just beautiful. I would not stay anywhere elsein Prague, and have never come across a Hotel as beautiful and friendly as the Hotel U Prince.

Room Tip: We stayed as a party of 4, in the suite on the first floor, absolutly amazing! even though we were sitauted at the front of the hotel, you could not hear any noise. I absolutly love that suite, and love the hotel itself.

U Prince is an old burghers house at the edge of Old Town square, if possible get a table on the terrace for a beer in the afternoon, lunch or dinner(they have an elevator to take you right up there). Great view over the square, a wide choice of czech and international options, it will set you back roughly 30-35Euro per person.
Good for summer or winter(terrace is open year round), service here is pretty good, try to time your visit just before the hour and you'll be able to enjoy the astronomical clock show from about the same level, just make sure you are facing in the right direction.

Room Tip: Didnt stay here, just touched the sleep quality button by mistake
