We were meeting up with my (Australian) partner's brother and his wife while they were backpacking, stayed here for a week in February - a cold month but beautifully clear. Even the rain in this old european city was romantic and classy.
The rooms in the hotel are clean and spare, wooden floors and old wooden furniture, all very atmospheric. The basement of the hotel is a restaurant / bar, once a brewery, now long dark tables in an open dining area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we found everyone responded very enthusiastically even to our feeble efforts to pronounce the menu, please and thank you in Czech.
The hotel is on a tiny island right at the foot of the city's main bridge, leading into the heart of the city, impossibly handy. It was like a week in a fairy-tale. At the weekend. the city was full of stag nights / buck's parties - the rest of the week was more mellow and welcomed other travellers more.

I stayed here for 3 nights at the start of April. Free chocolate on arrival as it was easter Monday, which went down a treat!
Gorgeous spacious room with river view (had paid for a standard, double bonus), table and chairs and a sofa.

Not mentioned in the blurb was the presence of a a kettle with tea and coffee making facilities. the room also had a mini bar but I didn't use that.

Sun light hit the room first thing in the morning - so don't sleep at the back if you don't like waking up early as there are no black out curtains, though it really didn't bother me. Free wireless access in the room too, also a bonus.

The attached restaurant was not the cheapest in the world, but was very accommodating for my food intolerances.
Breakfast above average - standard continent cold cuts, and scrambled eggs etc. yoghurt some pastries, and donuts....

As for Prague itself - pack comfy walking shoes, there are cobbles everywhere, and after a couple of days your feet hurt! You are five mins if that from the Charles Bridge - I walked up and got some early morning shots at about 7 just as the sun was rising.

Wouldn't necessarily recommend the Prague card, very poor value for money. No free access to any museums, minor discount. Also wasn't that impressed with the astronomical clock, it was a bit of a let down.
But a lovely place for a City break and very welcoming. Too many places to choose from to eat - there are four just on the square the hotel is located on. The set menus are definitely the way to go, food a bit expensive - and lunch (as in sandwiches) often the same price as a 3 course meal.

Would recommend the Kafka Museum just around the corner, albeit a slightly disturbing experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Archibald from Feb. 13-Feb 19. The location couldn't be better as a homebase to explore the beautiful city of Prague. The hotel is just steps away from Charles Bridge and from there you can get just about anywhere you want to go. The room was cozy, decorated with antique furniture. Our room had a safe which we did use for a deposit of 500kc, you get your deposit back when you return the key on check out. Breakfast was nice with a good array of choices. The staff was more than helpful with questions, no problems speaking english. Ondrej at the front desk was especially helpful. A nice touch was free wi-fi throughout the hotel and in the rooms which was nice to do some research on places we wanted to see the next day. If you don't bring your computer you can use the hotel's computer in the lobby area for free. There were several good restaurants with in walking distance, most everyone we came in contact with spoke pretty good english. Our only problem with our room was the fact that 2 twin beds were pushed together to make 1 large bed which was not very comfortable. We would definitely come back to Prague and without a doubt would stay at the Archibald again.

I have been to Prague a couple of times before, but an Internet search for a Hotel for myself and my Wife brought up The Archibald at Charles Bridge.

What an amazing Hotel, used Google to walk around the outside and it looked fabulous.

It is a magnificent location right next to the river, and next to the Jetty for the tour boats.

A minute’s walk to The Charles Bridge, and set in a lovely quite area.

Food at the hotel is excellent, good value meals are available, breakfast lovely.

Good selection of local bars up nearby side streets.

The Hotel has lovely friendly staff, and is a very pleasant place to be indeed.

We paid extra for the River view and our room was vast with windows to the river and adjacent courtyard, absolutely terrific, quiet, comfy bed, well equipped, welcome drink and nibbles, wonderful.

The next time we visit Prague we will be going back.

booked this hotel back in september got it at great price £125 for 3 nights ,very happy with it best accomadation I have stayed at in prague , as this was my third visit . hotel is very central ,so this visit we got cedaz public shuttle bus from airport drops you of close to old town square cost 120 kronas each cheaper than a taxi if only 2 . Breakfast was excellent rooms great . On one occassion we had a meal at a chinese place just over the charles bridge towards old town it is on right hand side you go through an arch restraunt is through a courtyard avoid this place as it is one of those places that displays a price on a board on the outside and charge twice the price inside . The good solider which is a chez restraunt is excellent and a short walk from hotel in the lesser town short walk from the child of prague church on the other side of the road prices are very good

Fantastic hotel! the location was the best, only a few mins walk to the centre, but far enough away to have a peaceful night. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good. My room was very big with a great view. The bed was a bit small for my partner as he is 6ft2in tall. Overall a great hotel
