“Great hotel”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights in December - the hotel staff were very helpful. Contacted them by email prior to our stay to see if they could arrange a taxi from the airport to the hotel which they did. They responded promtly to our email and was easy for us to let them to book taxi, cost was about £15 each way which we paid to the driver. Hotel very clean everywhere and the room was ample for out needs, nice and warm too. Breakfast was included and was the usual cooked meats, cereal, fruit, egg and bacon. There is free use of internet in the lobby area, and a well stocked bar in the room. Public transport is available near by with trams that run just past the hotel, we didn't use them as we found it easy to get about on foot.

This hotel is close to all attractions in Prague, if one is a good walker everything is within range, beautiful place. If one not a walker buy train/tram/rail ticket for day or three days. very close to bus and tram stop. Food joints close buy.

Room Tip: Room facing main road

The hotel took a little finding as we bravely did it on foot, not by taxi. The reception staff were pleasant, warm, polite and helpful.
Our room overlooked the gardens opposite. It was warm, quiet and clean. Bathroom and shower great.
We had breakfast included, all the usual thing, eggs and bacon. Everything was fresh, and hot, if it needed to be. Restaurant staff were again pleasant, helpful etc.
We were only there for three nights and had purchased a three day travel pass, we soon got to grips with its workings. The bus stop was only a hundred yards away. Very convenient.
When we go back to Prague this will be the first hotel we will check out and if the price is right we will definitely stay again.
Paul n Mary.

Room Tip: We always ask for a high room, ask for one that overlooks the gardens.

After previous reviews there is not a lot to add - an excellent experience. A quiet area yet a short walk to metro, tram and bus, and only a fifteen minute walk to the Charles Bridge. We walked everywhere however, and had a wonderful time. The hotel is spotless, food good, staff excellent. A bonus was the hospitality tray in the rooms which is not always available in Europe -we had tea made with boiling water! The hotel is not large, and the personal touch is an asset. All in all we would recommended this to anyone and would not stay anywhere else if we return to this beautiful city.

My wife booked us trip to Prague for my birthday present. We stayed at the Kinsky Gardens hotel for 3 night from 26-29th November 2013.

The hotel helpfully arranged a taxi for us to and from the airport. It worked out at 600 CZK each way (about £18.50) and I would really recommend it. The airport is well out from the town centre and looked like it could be quite difficult to get to, particularly at the time of night we got in.

The location was excellent. Nice and quiet but only a 20 minute walk to the main sights in the old town. This is also a short tram ride away if you are feeling less active! It is also right next to the attractive Petřín (lovers) Park.

The staff at reception were variable in their levels of welcome towards us, but never really rude. I think this is partly down the fact we were speaking in English (we don’t speak Czech) and they may have been having to concentrate on what we were saying. They were helpful when we requested the usual kind of information tourists need to know.

The hotel itself had a lot of character and was very clean and well maintained. The same can be said for the room we stayed in which was always warm, quiet and comfortable.

The food was also worth a mention. One night we were feeling drained so decided to stay in and try the hotel’s own restaurant. They provided a menu with nice range of cuisines, even for me as a vegetarian. I wanted to sample a local dish so opted for a type of onion soup inside a bread bowl. This was unusual, warming and yummy. Just what I needed after a chilly and tiring day out exploring! Breakfast was also lovely with a lot of choice.

Overall I thought this hotel was perfect for our short break in Prague and would recommend it if you are planning the same kind of thing.

Once again, excellent service, outstanding location far from the tourist crowd and still only about 10 – 15 minutes’ walk from e.g. the Kampa island and the Charles bridge. The walk to the Hradcany Castel via the huge Kinsky garden is a refreshing experience (try to pass along the Ukrainian wooden church and Roses garden). The breakfast proposes also local food and is very tasty.
