From first arrival here at the Corinthia in Prague we were very impressed withe service and friendly staff. We were treated as friends as well as guests. We would like to pay particular gratitude to Michaela Vavrova on the desk who assisted us with all our needs and Bohuslav up in the Executive Lounge. He made my birthday breakfast feel special. He was very knowledeable and recommended some lovely places to eat and drink. We would also recommend the steak in the hotel Grill. We will return. Many thanks Corinthia for a lovely stay. Booked this hotel as I attended a conference at the Conference centre just over the road. Great value for a 5 star. Public areas were very nice. Only meal I ate was breakfast and it was very good (though even at 06:30 the "hot" stuff was luke warm).

I did have a couple fo issues though which stop me giving it a 5 star rating.

1. no spare plug sockets in the room - in this day and age it's not acceptable to scrambling on the floor, to unplug a lamp in order to charge your phone - not a single unused socket in the room

2. the bath - too narrow and too flexible to feel safe taking a shower - no joke - couldn't set my feet comfortably side by side - not good

In the interest of fairness I checked with others from my conference who stayed here and ALL echoed my issues - so not just me being picky.

First of all, compliments to the staff (house maids, front desk, concierge and more) who were were friendly and attentive - greeting you and smiling more or less every time we met.

With that said, I can't really wrap my head around how this could be a considered a 5-star hotel. It's kind of worn and the rooms - which could be considered a bit "boring" - are quite out-dated. For example, there was literally not a single free power in the room which was quite annoying seeing we had multiple devices to charge. Had to unplug the bed lamps (which oddly had two power plugs each) to be able to charge the phones while keeping them near the bedside...

The biggest source of annoyance though was the lack of a working AC - the rooms were a good 26+ degrees C, which is far from pleasant when looking for a good nights sleep! Apparently, according to the staff, the AC is turned of in the cold season... The "work-around" was to keep the window open during the night - which in a room facing a metro station as well as a major road bridge with all the heavy traffic and emergency vehicles and their sirens that comes with that is, shall we say "less than optimal".

The breakfast buffet was decent (but again, far from "5-star"), but that's about it. The gym was on the smaller side but ok for ~10 ppl simultaneously. The one thing this hotel really has going for itself is the location a stone's throw from Vyšehrad metro station and the Prague Conference center.

Stayed over a long weekend on a city break. Generally very happy with our stay.

Hotel itself is a large structure with good facilities. On site is a restaurant, large lobby/bar area, spa and gym. Used the gym and it was small but decent for a included hotel gym. The main areas were all nicely decorated and the hotel felt modern and clean.

Room itself was again reasonably spaced and well decorated. Bathroom was a little dated but good water pressure and again reasonably spaced. Nice flat screen TV. Little tip the hotel did not make fully clear you can add english language to some of the shows with a press of a button on the remote.

Breakfast buffet was very good, plenty of hot and cold options. Would add as a slight caveat that we did pay extra for the breakfast so you would expect this.

Location wise the hotel is very close to the metro, literally a 30 second walk. Very useful for getting around the city. Metro is very cheap and the most useful means to get around. You are 2 stops from the main old town centre where most of the action is.

Only gripe is that there is nothing within walking distance of the hotel. I do mean nothing, not even a corner shop. I would strongly suggest you visit a supermarket before you come back for the night for some essentials because the mini bar is very expensive.

We stayed here after a river cruise. It was part of the package and we wouldn't have chosen it personally as it was a few metro stops from the historic centre of Prague. In fact it is in the middle of a conference/business district and not much choice outside the hotel for eateries.

The best thing about this hotel was the buffet breakfast which was extensive and the goulash soup in particular was excellent. However the staff seemed to pounce on you to take away the plates sometimes before even finishing what you were eating on them. My husband ended up shooing them away a couple of times.

The housekeeping was tardy. Our room was not touched until 4pm after we had phoned down twice. However the room itself was comfortable.

The view from the spa and pool area is good, and the facilities were clean. The pool was rather cool for a spa and it was nice to have a hot shower afterwards. You certainly wouldn't linger there for long.
