“Great Value & location”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

The Cloister Inn is in the old town but a little bit of a walk to the center. But it will save you time and money in getting around the city center. The room we had was huge! The breakfast buffet was abundant. ALl of the staff was very helpful and friendly. Computers were available in the lobby for quick checks of travel locations but other guests tended to hog them for e-mail checking, so expect a wait unless there have been changes.
Do NOT eat at the restaurant across the street, the Mediterranean Restaurant in the Residence Bologna building. The food was okay and convenient but service was slow and unfriendly. The waiter highlighted the words "service is not included" at the bottom of our receipt. Then he wrote in a new total under the bill's total. He boldly argued that we had to pay his new total. This act alone scored him zero tip and this warning to other travellers. No where else in Prague did we experience this and every other server was well tipped by U.S. standards, not Czech.

Great location close to everything. Very safe as you needed the key sensor to get in. Spatious, clean, warm rooms. Friendly staff. Good wifi signal in the room. Free coffee/tea at the reception area. Nice breakfast. A very pleasant stay. Would go back again for sure.

Rooms were very nice as was the breakfast they served each day. Getting directions from the staff was easyl. It was very secure if you needed to get in the hotel in the evening. It was locked. We were able to walk to all of the sites that we wanted to get to. The need for public transportation was minimal.

Have just returned from tripping around Europe and Uk and have to say that the Cloister Inn was the best place to stay. Stayed for 5 nights and have no complaints. The room was perfect - it had everything the traveller needs, very spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff are friendly and speak very good English and were very helpful. The breakfast was great, ample food and choice - cereals, pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, cheese, ham, salami, eggs, baked beans, sausage, juices, tea coffee and hot chocolate. All beautifully presented and the breakfast room very clean and orderly. The location was also perfect - a quick walk to all the main sights of Old Town Sq, Charles Bridge etc., and yet quiet at night. To compliment all this the price is very reasonable - you do not have to spend a lot of money to get a great hotel with the perfect location.

Room Tip: We booked 2 double rooms on the 4th floor, as our 2 teenage daughters were with us and both rooms we...

Nice little hotel in the heart of Prague. Walking distance to old town square and other attractions. Rooms somewhat dated but comfortable. Front desk and door man extremely helpful and good english. Great service, very secure hotel. Please note: map out ahead of time as it is hard to reach hotel in big European city. GPS somewhat unhelpful unless your very resourceful but not the hotels issue. They have cheap parking but it is limited. You must reserve your parking ahead of time or you will park 1 mile away and pay big bucks, much like I had to.Breakfast was adequate but not the best we've encountered through Germany. No comparisons in other Czech cities. Did not notice any smoking and this city is ALL smoking so they must have no smoking rules in place.

Room Tip: book your parking a head of time and map the hotel out for directions.Very confusing,GPS not much he...

We stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased with this hotel. We had a room on the fifth floor and found it to be more than acceptable. The room was simply furnished but very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The standards of cleanliness were very high. We could find no fault. The breakfasts were ample with many choices. This hotel provides excellent accommodation for a reasonable price. Cloister Inn is ideally situated to all the major tourist sights. Many are just a short walk away. |There are also many excellent restaurants nearby. There is a car service that the hotel arranges to and from the airport and railway station. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
