Our weekend stay at Cerny Slon (apologies for English alphabet) was very nice with the hotel meeting our expectations.

The hotel has character consistent with being in the middle of the old town. The vaulted ceilings in the dinning room with painted coats of arms is an example of the character (see picture).

Our room was spacious with what looks like a recently renovated bathroom with plenty of hot water and pressure.

Hotel had a somewhat normal sized lift that could fit more than two people at a time.

The breakfast was good and generally on par with European breakfast with hot food, fresh fruit, cereals coffee, tea etc.

Our room had a fan and did not have air conditioning. Even though the temperature was 90 F, our room on the second floor was not too hot. We were in the shade and with the open window and fan we were comfortable.

Being in the old town, the roads are narrow and full of hard surfaces which seem to amplify street noises. When shut, the double windows and wide walls easily silenced the street noise.

The location just 100+ meters away from the Old Town square is excellent (we were not bothered by extra square noise). There is even a handy gelato stand just outside the door. Extra nice for hot Prague days.

We used the hotel to pre book airport taxis which came in at a competitive price and help simplify a quick weekend trip.

All in all a really good experience.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Cerny Slon hotel for a week in august and we loved our stay!
Our room was always clean with fresh towels.
The location of the hotel is in the center of old town so you can walk around the city instead of taking a bus/taxi. Also, we could always find our hotel because we followed the towers! So if we got lost then we just looked up and found our way "home"
You could have breakfast buffet for 8€ so you could decide if you wanted to have breakfast at the hotel or not. We tried the breakfast the first day and it was very good, they had Crossant, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal, milk, fruit, juice, coffee and tea.
The staff was lovely and very helpful!
I highly recommend people to stay at the Cerny Slon hotel if you are visiting Prague

We stayed here for 5 nights and this hotel is in a great location, just a 2 minute walk to the main square. The hotel has a lift to the 2nd floor, so I guess you need to walk a few stairs if you are located on the 3rd floor. We were on the 1st floor. Yes, some evenings it was noisy, we closed the windows and put on the fan, so it wasn't that much of a problem. The staff were always friendly and very helpful.
Each day when we returned the bed had been tidied and the bathroom stocked with loo rolls and body soaps etc.
We found the breakfast well equipped, with continental style breakfast, cold meats and what looked like various cakes, croissants, bread and a toaster, hot food such as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, plenty of cereal, juices, coffee etc. More than enough to choose from. I couldn't fault it at all. It was self serve, so if you enjoy a hearty breakfast there was plenty to choose from. If you are on a budget it is cheaper to eat outside, which is normal.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Literally steps from the Old Town Square. So very convenient. An easy walk, 400 m from the subway(Staromestska )stop. Easy walk to the Charles Bridge through winding cobblestone streets( 10 minutes). Close to multitudes of excellent restaurants in any direction. Excellent breakfast. Just 16 rooms in an 16th century building. Second floor rooms have 15 ft ceilings decoratively hand painted.

Room tip: Floor above the ground floor was large, airy and very comfortable - modern bathroom/shower

The hotel has a very good location, it is directly next to one of the main squares and very comfortable place to explore the city, but in summer the city doesn't sleep, I guess. Closing the windows didn't help, it is in VERY noisy place: drunk voices, shouting people, music on the square and SEGWAYs (I think I hate them after this trip).

And about breakfast, why no one in Czech Republic puts the description of the food they provide? The breakfast is fully self-service, so even nobody to ask what is it, butter or cheese? What meat is that? etc.

But other things in hotel were quite good.
And we highly appreciated the Parking service they provided. At first, when we learnt the price, we were surprised. But when we drove around in the city, we understood that it is quite cheap.
