Literally steps from the Old Town Square. So very convenient.An easy walk, 400 m from the subway(Staromestska )stop. Easy walk to the Charles Bridge through winding cobblestone streets( 10 minutes). Close to multitudes of excellent restaurants in any direction. Excellent breakfast. Just 16 rooms in an 16th century building. Second floor rooms have 15 ft ceilings decoratively hand painted.

The hotel has a very good location, it is directly next to one of the main squares and very comfortable place to explore the city, but in summer the city doesn't sleep, I guess. Closing the windows didn't help, it is in VERY noisy place: drunk voices, shouting people, music on the square and SEGWAYs (I think I hate them after this trip).
And about breakfast, why no one in Czech Republic puts the description of the food they provide? The breakfast is fully self-service, so even nobody to ask what is it, butter or cheese? What meat is that? etc.
But other things in hotel were quite good.
And we highly appreciated the Parking service they provided. At first, when we learnt the price, we were surprised. But when we drove around in the city, we understood that it is quite cheap.
The hotel is located very close to the center square of prague (about 2 minutes walking) with all the restaurants, the old small streets with their tourist shops, very close to Carlov Most (Carl bridge) and in walking distance from the castle.
The facilities at the hotel is to be expected.
The staff is very helpful and friendly.
The room are not bad but the standard could be higher.
The breakfast is european standard although the variety could be better.
The only big disadvantage with this hotel is the noise from the street and that the room we had was not equipped with air conditioning which leads to the need for open windows in warm weather.
Wonderful meal at a beautiful restaurant. We happened upon it while discovering the small streets behind Tyn Cathedral. Having 2 teen girls with us the wifi was "important" and worked well. Our party of 5 ordered a mixed grill plate, a small salad, pasta, schnitzel, and fish. Our total bill that includes a bottle of wine, and several soft drinks for each member of our party was approximately $125. The food was excellent as was the service. Would highly recommend Cerny Slon. While $125 may seem steep, it is below par for eating at a nice restaurant in this part of town. We did not stay in the hotel.
Hotel Cerny Slon is right off the main old town plaza in Prague, adjacent to the grand tower that is featured in most photos of Prague's old town plaza. It's a beautiful older building with more of a house feel than a hotel feel--wood furniture and fixtures, tile bathroom (with giant tub), double windows to keep out the noise. I felt like a guest in someone's house rather than an inmate in yet another vanilla hotel chain. Stay here--you won't be sorry.
Great Hotel just off the Old Town Square. Good welcome. Comfortable room. I think the only slight negative was the breakfast which was actually Ok but just a little lacking. It appeared that the buffet food was put out but once it was gone...........
Only hot option was local sausage cooked in brine, streaky bacon and scrambled eggs which were OK. Coffee was probably the worst we had anywhere in Prague
That said we will return. PS they have just fitted a new lift
