Awesome Location and Hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Mar 15, 2016
Loved this hotel. What a great location, literally around the corner from the old town square - the center of activity in Prague. Comfortable "small" rooms, friendly staff, great food, reasonably priced. If I ever get a chance to return to Prague I definitely will try and stay here again.
Date of stay: October 2015
Room Tip: Every room is unique. Oh and no elevator so if you've got special needs ask.

The location alone makes this hotel well worth the money. You are right in the heart of everything! Our flights meant we arrived late and left early so we took advantage of the transfer (worked out about £20 each way, per car. There were only 2 of us but it was worth it, even if we could have done it cheaper by public transport).
The staff were friendly enough, helpful when approached but not over the top like you get in some places.
We were in room 8, which is on the 2nd floor, I'm not fit so I found the stairs a bit of a pain, although my husband barely even noticed them! The hotel does warn you about the lack of elevator before you book and there is one currently being built. Which takes me onto my next point... The construction work in progress. It wasn't overly loud or annoying but I think it should be highlighted to people before they book! Please don't be put off by it though, I just wish I'd have been told (I'm just fussy, we travel a lot and it's something I feel should be pointed out before hand) .
The building is lovely and the room was spacious and nice enough. It is a bit tired looking and we could hear people walking about in other rooms (floorboards creaking). Also the tv is tiny and rubbish and we had no views from our rooms (unless you like over looking other people's Windows!). But overall I really liked this hotel, it's general feel and overall it's location :)

Lovely historic building ,the restaurant has lovely vaulted ceilings,
Great traditional food you need to be hungry,as portions are huge.

Price was good as quite close to square. A real treasure

I came here with family when we visited Prague in December. It was like walking into an old church with low ceilings and thick walls. The staff were friendly and I had the hot wine throughout which was warming - well suited for a cold December evening! I was eager to try potato pancakes and pork knuckle which is what I ordered here. The potato pancake was served with gammon, cabbage and garlic dip which was a great starter. The pork knuckle then arrived on a huge wooden plater and was basically a beautifully cooked chunk of meat. It was huge and great value for money. Any meat lover would love this dish. It was salty and simply came away from the bone using a fork. It came with mashed potatoes (which were like crushed potatoes) and horseradish. These accompanied the meat very well. The meal came to under £15 per person which I thought was fantastic value for money. I would recommend visiting this restaurant for some great quality, traditional Czech food.

I had two dinners in this restaurant and I'll never forget the experience! All were very very good: the food, the price, the place, the waiters!!! An advice: the soup is so tasty that you can't take only once!!

The hotel is located about 50 meters from the Old Town Square. It is a couple of steps to the bus station.
The room was big with high ceiling, the lighting was poor event when all the lights were on. There is no elevator, so it is hard to get to the upper floors.
Staff is nice and help me to get all I need.
In addition we have celebrating our wedding in the place - the prices was very attractive and the food was very tasty.
For breakfast we got a buffet with eggs, sausages, bacon and some other things that are usually served in hotels.
Overall we loved to stay in the hotel.

Room tip: I thing that a better choice is a room that located a the second or higher flor
