The location alone makes this hotel well worth the money. You are right in the heart of everything! Our flights meant we arrived late and left early so we took advantage of the transfer (worked out about £20 each way, per car. There were only 2 of us but it was worth it, even if we could have done it cheaper by public transport).
The staff were friendly enough, helpful when approached but not over the top like you get in some places.
We were in room 8, which is on the 2nd floor, I'm not fit so I found the stairs a bit of a pain, although my husband barely even noticed them! The hotel does warn you about the lack of elevator before you book and there is one currently being built. Which takes me onto my next point... The construction work in progress. It wasn't overly loud or annoying but I think it should be highlighted to people before they book! Please don't be put off by it though, I just wish I'd have been told (I'm just fussy, we travel a lot and it's something I feel should be pointed out before hand) .
The building is lovely and the room was spacious and nice enough. It is a bit tired looking and we could hear people walking about in other rooms (floorboards creaking). Also the tv is tiny and rubbish and we had no views from our rooms (unless you like over looking other people's Windows!). But overall I really liked this hotel, it's general feel and overall it's location :)
