“Helpful staff, nice rooms!”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

We arrived after a long overnight train wanting to head straight for our room and the shower and the lovely staff were very accommodating, letting us head up to our room 4 hours before check-in! They were very helpful when our adaptor broke and when we were looking to book a beer tour. The room itself is very nice for our budget, Free wifi, nice size room, awesome bathroom. Only bummers was no air conditioning and while the window let in a lovely breeze the street noise was very loud. 1/2 hour walk from the main part of town but I found it a nice distance. Would recommend, especially for the insanely helpful staff.

Room Tip: We were located in the main building (not the Patio) but try and get a room away from the front side...

Dear travellers,
we are very glad that you liked Ariston & Ariston Patio Hotel. Happy guests make us happy too. Thank you for your review.

This was a nice and clean hotel, the staff was friendly and the food is good.

Slightly far from attractions, about a half hour walk from down town. After a long day visiting, it is a bit much to have to walk all the way back up hill to the hotel.

We stayed in the patio hotel which is situated opposite the main hotel which was quite irritating at times as the reception in the patio wasn't manned so we kept having to go over the road. We stayed on the third floor where the wifi didn't reach which was very frustrating - again we had to go over the road to get it.
Watch out for the cleaners - on our first morning (at 8am!!!) the cleaners were very noisy outside our room and were shouting to each other - this went on for ages...then...a cleaner walked in our room! She walked in and knocked at the same time so didnt even give us time to tell her we didn't need our beds made - I was very annoyed about this considering it was early and we had had a tiring journey to Prague.
The location is questionable - the walk into the city sees a lot of homeless people and we saw people taking drugs (you will see two coaches under the bridge where they all gather) You can walk in to the city in 15/20 mins but it is on a hill so walking back can take longer!
Can take a tram but we decided not to. There was a kettle in the room and fridge which was a bonus! The rooms are big and clean. We had a room by the road - wasn't too noisy. Beds were very comfortable.
Reception staff were helpful and friendly.

This hotel is reasonably priced and very good quality . I would agree with an earlier reviewer , it is more 3 than 4 star . The shower is very small, the doors open inward and this is a problem for large people. Soundproofing is very bad and it is time to change the floor . The breakfasts are good but monotonous .
The staff was friendly and helpful
The location of this hotel is good, a few tram stops from Wenceslas Square , it only takes a few minutes to get there. It is also about 30 minutes walk from Old Town Square .
Maybe in the future I will go back to the hotel again .

This hotel is reasonably priced, and very good value. I would agree with an earlier reviewer, it is more a 3 than 4 star, but nevertheless the standards were good. Excellent bathroom, comfortable and warm rooms with plenty of space. Some noise from the corridors, wasn't a problem for us but might be for light sleepers. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a fairly average continental breakfast. We were really pleased we chose to stay here; it was easy to get into the city's main attractions, but offered a stay at a much better price than the hotels in Prague 1, likely to the same standard as many. It was roughly a 30 min walk to the Old Town square, or there is a tram stop outside which takes you into the town centre in minutes. Trams are very regular, we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. You can also get to Mala Strana by tram from here easily within 30mins. Definitely recommend if you are simply looking for a comfortable bed for the night, maximising spending money for enjoying the best of Prague!

The Hotel Ariston had a friendly staff. Our room was absolutely huge! The bed was not comfortable but it worked for our 3 night stay. The hotel was a distance from the attractions and the metro is difficult to figure out compared to other cities however- the staff was helpful with navigation.
