After reading several reviews about this hotel I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I pre-arranged airport transfers through the hotel and it was reliable and inexpensive. The hotel was very clean and the daily breakfast was quite good. Overall a very good value for the price.
The hotel is at the end of a street that has a few gentlemen's clubs so if this is something that you are not comfortable with then just walk over one block and you'll avoid them. I wasn't bothered by them at all. There were people in front of them soliciting business but when I politely declined they didn't ever force the issue.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Fairly small hotel, but it did the job, all you need when you visit this beautiful city is a bed at the end of the night and a good breakfast in the morning and this hotel did both! Very clean and modern bedroom/bathroom. The location of this hotel was a 2-3 min walk away from Wenceslas Square and 10 mins to the old town centre (main bars/restaurants and shops) but there are bars and restaurants within the same street which all looked fine. There are strip/lapdancing clubs at the end of the street but we never saw anything seedy when we returned to the hotel late at night.

I organised a stag party via pragueexperience.com 13 of us stayed in Andante. Its 2 minute walk from Wencelas square which is busy square of bars and clubs, but you dont hear that from the hotel. The rooms were clean, staff helpful and breakfast was ok. The cereal was left out all weekend tho! Free internet access in lobby too. This hotel is not in the Red Light district but does have some strip clubs on the same street. Groups of men will get lots of hassle to try and get you in these clubs.
Good basic accomodation ideal for short stay. Would look for somewhere more romantic if taking a girlfriend though!

The Andante is situated down a side street which connects Wenceslas Square with a street called Zitna and is, unfortunately, in the red light district. There are other big hotels in the same street but you do have to walk through scores of young kids handing out leaflets for sex shows etc which is not that pleasant. This, coupled with the fact that its a bit of a walk from the Old Town - just right through the Square - means its not absolutely ideally situated.

However, that said, this is a nice if slightly basic looking hotel. It is very clean with modernised rooms with excellent facilities. It is very comfortable. No air con which can be a problem. Excellent breakfasts and very helpful staff. I wouldn't stay there again if I had a choice but that is more to do with the location than any problem with the accomodation itself. But, oh what a city....!
