Letna is a very nice, more informal park. i.e more trees than formal flower beds and with very good views of the city. We were here on a Saturday with lovely weather, and even though it was November, there were lots of local people about, enjoying their day off in the sunshine. There is a very small beer garden with a barbecue and a well equipped bar, but there is also a bigger beer garden overlooking the city itself and with a restaurant close by. It isn't very far away from the castle and Mala Strana, it takes about fifteen to twenty minutes from the nearest part of the castle.

Sadly the weather was not great but well worth a visit. A nice walk at a sedate pace. Great views and very busy.

The top gives you a nice view of Prague and from what I heard, Lenin statue was used to be here before the breakup of Czecoslovakia.

It was a lovely walk (and good way to avoid the crowd in the old town). Has a beer garden where you can relax and unwind.

Thank Rocky X

Prague is a stunning city, architecturally beautiful, atmospheric and quirky but sometimes you just need to breathe - Letna Park gives you the opportunity to do just that. It is an oasis of calm and peace high above the city. On the day we visited we encountered only a handful of other people, mostly dog walkers or mothers with toddlers. It was wonderful to get away from the noise of the city below and to enjoy the autumn colours and the sculptures. We had a beer in the beer garden (we were the only customers), gazed down over the city and gave our respiratory tracts a break from the air-bourne pollutants - it was blissful.

Having braved the crowds at Stare Mesto, the Charles Bridge and the Prague Castle during our first few days in Prague, we decided to visit Letna Park for a change of pace. Sitting on a bluff above the Vltava River, Letna Park offers refreshing greenery as well as mesmerizing views of the river and the Old Town on the opposite bank. Although we encountered a few tourists, most of the other park visitors appeared to be locals who were meeting friends, walking their dogs, or simply out for a stroll or a beer. We watched with amusement as a group of young children learned to ride bicycles. At the far end of the park, we joined the local patrons in the beer garden for an excellent pilsner, which we drank while basking in the late afternoon sun and absorbing the views.
