This is the kind of basement club that is *meant* for jazz... rustic, poky but very friendly with great jazz!

We found the Ungelt Jazz and Blues Club quite by accident on the way back from the State Opera one night. We went in and started going down into the cellar, and down and down. Towards the music. We went back the following night (our last on this trip). The music is mostly locals, but really good. The food is excelent. We'll be back when we go back to Prague and the Ungelt will be on the agenda rather than being a serendipitous chance.

We were meant to go to the U Maleho Glena for an evening of jazz and blues after our meal out, but due to poor judgement in timings we missed our reservation. We noticed the jazz club on our way to the restaurant and gave it a go. We made our way down to the basement like wine cellars where we ordered a bottle of wine from the bar where the bar maid was helpful and we took a seat in the live music area. Seating is limited but we were fortunate enough to secure front of stage seats for two, probably due to it being a Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed the soulful blues Music from 9:30pm-12am and would have stayed far longer if the music continued. Would recommend it to anyone and it was one of the highlights for both my girlfriend and I during our three night stay in Prague.

Quite a small intimate venue - great for getting close to the musicians but can be quite cramped at times. Beer is reasonably priced, food looked nice but didn't eat here. Having seen many blues bands over the years the act on was pretty average, started out well but fell quite flat after that. I'm sure we would visit again given they have a vast array of musicians on their lineup.

We went to hear a live band, and enjoyed it very much except that the room was too small for the amount of people who wanted to attend, and it was very hot with insufficient air conditioning. There was a cover charge of 200 Kroners (about 10 dollars) not including any drinks.
