We loved our room at Mamaison Riverside. It was beautifully decorated, air conditioning was great, cleaned and refreshed every day. Breakfast was plentiful and the service there was excellent. The location was perfect for us. Yes, you have to walk. It's Europe! If you want closer, you have to stay in Old Town, or New Town, but then it is noisy and crowded. We loved being so close to the river. The service was excellent. Every request was honored. They set up a wonderful tour for us and even mailed a package for us as we were leaving for the next country.

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor and it was fine. Quiet.

The hotel is good, clean rooms and extremely courteous staff. Only reason why I would not recommend it because of the location. I like to stay closer to the city centre and was confused with the other Mamaison hotel.

Dear valued guest, dear Parushni,

thank you very much for your review of Mamaison Riverside Hotel Prague. We value your honest evaluation and feedback for other possible travelers on Tripadvisor community.

We are glad that you liked the hotel with our polite staff members. We are sorry that you got confused, yes - there are three Mamaison properties in Prague, each one in different locations. You were looking most probably at 5 * Mamaison Suite Hotel Pachtuv Palace, which is located almost right in the city center, next to the famous Charles bridge.

Therefore we regret to see your slight disappointment with the location of Mamaison Riverside Hotel, which is a little remote I admit but still very close to the main attractions as recommended by hundreds of fellow guests that stayed with us before.

I am sorry that this fact which we cannot influence made you to give us only 60% score while the rest of your experience was great.

We truly hope to welcome you sometimes in the future.

Kind regards,

Tibor BIELIK

We really enjoyed this lovely and perfectly situated hotel except dor a few things. Two days in a row there was no hot water! When we mentioned this, the response was somewhat...aloof? We were told that of course when the hotel is full sometimes this will happen. As if this is normal and we were complainers. I don't think that a hotel that wants to be considered a 5 or even a 4 star hotel should ever run out of hot water. This being said, we would likely stay here again and the staff were largely helpful and curteous. Perhaps it is a cultural difference where being apologetic is not the norm. Also, there was a dirty coffee cup in our room when we arrived so I didn't give them 5 stars for cleanliness.

Dear valued guest, dear Christy from Orinda, CA.

Thank you very much for your review of Mamaison Riverside Hotel Prague. We value your honest evaluation and feedback for fellow travelers on Tripadvisor community.

We are glad that you liked the hotel with our helpful staff members and I apologize for hot water inconvenience caused during your stay. We regret to see your slight disappointment with the situation which resulted due to the problems with our water boilers when sometimes during the high occupancy days the pressure is not high enough to get the hot water to the highest floors - our technicians had immediately looked at the problems and fixed them accordingly. Of course you are right that this shouldn´t be an excuse in any hotel and once again we are sorry for these problems.

Still we are glad that overall feeling made you not to leave and we truly hope to welcome you sometimes in the future.

This hotel is perfect for a trip to Prague for people who are able to walk well.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful spot on the river, but it is a good 20/25 minute walk from the sites. Trams and buses are on your doorstep, but for those who like to walk it is ideal.
The bedrooms are beautiful and spacious, nicely decorated, very clean, with a payable mini bar which is very well stocked (however Tesco express is just around the corner too, and very cheap). The bathroom is fab - huge bath, with a large headed shower above - would not be great for the less able although there are more accessible rooms and slip mats available.Rooms do have shower gel and conditioner, hand cream but small bottles so take your own if you use a lot - hairdryer in room but no diffuser!!
Breakfast is served in a small room, but plenty of choice - fresh fruit, yogurts, meats, cheese, bread rolls, Danish pastries, cereal, and cooked Frankfurt sausage, ham, fried eggs and grilled tomatoes. Omelettes available at extra cost - minor cost!
There is also a bar area - small again but beautiful. We did not pay for a river view and overlooked a court yard - not an issue as we were hardly in - however a river view would be nice - but no seats to sit out on a veranda to look at the view - so may be a bit pointless - you decide!
Staff very helpful = provide maps etc!!! book taxis! Don't use taxis on streets charge a fortune - hotel know the ones to use!
The river at this end offers a good nightlife until 11pm - on the boats or by the river side, however it is across the bridge and no sound can be heard at the hotel.
Prague is fabulous - spectacular - visit all 5 areas - Jewish quarter, Old town, new town, little quarter and the castle area! But also visit the area - Peter and Paul church, beautiful gardens and church but off the usual visitors track! Don't bother with the Botanical Gardens - poor!!!!!
Beer at river can be as little as 75p a pint in the squares 3.75 a pint!
Food basic but pleasant - don't expect anything too great - try the goulash with dumplings - make sure you get dumplings!!!!
Def recommend you do a Segway Tour - www.Prague-segway-tours.com - they were great gave us lots of info, really nice guy - Tomash! Easy to use and get around very quickly 35 pound for an hour 45 for two hours etc !!!
Enjoy!!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view! over third floor.

This was our first visit to Prague - a wedding anniversary gift from our children - and we loved the Mamaison Riverside hotel. Our room was a great size, very clean and we had a great view of the river. The staff were very helpful and friendly, arranging taxis (limousines!) to and from the airport and the Andre Rieu concert. Breakfast was varied and tasty. The hotel is in an excellent position beside the river and about 15 minutes' walk to the centre of the city, although I would suggest a taxi if going to the Castle. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance too.

We have just got back from a 3 night stay at The Riverside Hotel. It was a lovely place with a large room, though we did pay a little extra for the river view upgrade. The only downside would be if you wanted to eat in the hotel there was very limited room in the bar area. This isn't really an issue though as there are restaurants everywhere all charging reasonable prices. Even in the tourist centre of the city the prices are the same as at home in Devon, so its cheap enough to eat and drink out. The city travel is ridiculously cheap. Around £3/4 gets you metro, bus and tram travel for 24 hours on any route. We got our tickets from the hotel so that too was simple. All the main attractions are worth a visit and are really well maintained. My one small complaint would be everyone seems to be tip crazy and in a lot of places bills come with a 21% tip already added. We just looked at the original price and made our own minds up what to leave. No one ever said anything . Finally I have to mention we booked with Caroline at travelcouncillors.co.uk. Everything was like clockwork from dropping the car at the long stay to picking it up again. So a big thanks to all who helped organise a great trip to a great hotel.

Room Tip: we loved our river view but Im not sure the other rooms would be any less nice.
