Hi people,

I wanna to write about best western Moran in Prague. I stayed in single room. The room was clean, fresh with nice bathroom. I had discount, because I hired room for 5 nights. It is not the most luxurious hotel in Prague, but worth the money.

We enjoyed our stay at Prague. Well located in Prague, just a 20 minute walk to the Charles Bridge where the market is located. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The hotel
was clean and classy. You receive free wifi for anywhere in the hotel including your room. Includes buffet breakfast, which is very extensive and lovely. We loved everything about this hotel.

Very practical location and superb friendly service are the main pros of this hotel. Only few steps and you are at the banks of Vltava, a few stops by tram and you are next to the ultrafamous Charles Bridge. You will also find some green close to this hotel. The breakfast was standard, but the most important for me was very friendly and helpful service at the reception who resolved every my travel problem in Prague. If you prefer to stay at the center of the city Best Western Hotel is a good and resonable option.

This hotel is based slightly south of the main Prague city centre. We are a couple that love exploring by walking and happily wandered around the area - other peoples estimations of walking distances are about right. The Metro is also really close by (3-5 min away) if you want to get back and forth quicker and is a reasonable 24 Crowns (about 75p by todays exchange) for a one way trip. The hotel itself was lovely and clean and quite modern. The room was basic but had everything we needed and was also very large with a huge comfey bed. We were on the 5th floor and could open our windows right up. There was air con but it was a bit noisey.
We found the front desk staff mostly helpful with any questions and were able to post our postcards via them as well. Breakfast was ok - nothing special but everything you needed.

Overall i would go back there and recommend it to a friend.

Tips: for the metro - as we only used it a couple of times a day we found buying bulk 'short trip' tickets worked well and were cheaper than the day tickets. If you can help it buy your tickets in advance from a ticket office or a newagent - they dont expire and the machines you have to use otherwise are a PAIN and dont accept a lot of coins!! Also make sure you validate your tickets - the ticket inspectors do check!

for dinner there is a lovely resturant on the corner down by the river at the very bottom of Na Morani street (out of the hotel and down the hill)- it has outside dining with picnic style tables and you can see across to the river. it is lovely food and really really well priced (both of us could eat a main meal plus a drink for 14-16 pounds.

For anyone who has seen my reviews, it is very rare that I am negative - largely in thanks to the tripadvisor community that normally steers me in the right direction.

In this case, I was very close to checking out and booking elsewhere (I actually did try to - but due to cancellation policies I would have had to still pay for this hotel).

The entrance and reception area are small but tidy and sufficient....the staff however were not helpful when they reported to us that booking.com had doubled our room booking. The short answer was 'not our problem, you will be paying for 2 rooms, we have a manager in, but not until tomorrow, and in the meantime we are charging you for the extra room'. (It was later dealt with directly with booking.com who also indicated they called the hotel and didn't find them helpful).

In any case, the booking issue was really not the hotels - just their dealing with it was extremely poor and in no way something I would expect when I even mentioned I am a Best Western Rewards member.

The real negatives are the cleanliness of the rooms - stains on chairs and carpets - insects in the room (likely due to no screens on windows and someone previous leaving them open). Location was a solid 20-25 minutes from old-town walking (not the end of the world, we knew we were walking, but the walk always seems longer when you are not looking forward to the room), and the previouslly mentioned customer service (or lack of).

On the positive side - a decent breakfast buffet, and friendly breakfast staff...and price (note I mention price, not value)......

I would not stay here on next visit to Prague and would tell a friend to stay elsewhere if asked.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies.

First of all, we appreciate all of our customer reviews, whether positive or negative. However we regret that your error with Booking.com may have coloured your experience of Prague and our hotel in a bad light. Booking.com clearly states that customers are subject to a cancellation fee if the reservation is not upheld which was the situation in this case as two rooms were booked instead of one. We hold our Best Western Rewards members in high esteem and we are very sorry that your experience of our hotel and city did not live up to your expectations. We very much hope that you will visit us again and next time join the 90% of positive reviewers that are truly satisfied with our hotel, location and services.

The hotel was a lovely base to view the city, the rooms were big and simple. A fantastic budget hotel! It was a 15 minute walk to Charles Bridge, 3 minutes to the Dancing house and a 10 minute walk to Wenceslas square.
Myself and my bestfriend sayed BandB and we couldn't have asked for more, the breakfast was adequate they had bread, cakes, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, and a cooked breakfast. Something for everyone.
The city was simply beautiful and I would recomend it to anyone of any age, again it had something for everyone, from the stunning art work, john lennon wall, loads of history, pubs, clubs, parks and restaurants.
The place is breathtaking and everyone should experience it.
The guides tell you that on average people spend about 1700kroner a day, whereas we spent 600. So you can make it as cheep as you need, as long as you eat out of the centre the restaurants are roughly 200 per meal including a drink.

We loved Prague

Considering the location, the services and facilities offered namely comprehensive breakfast, secured garage nearby, clean bedrooms and friendly staff, this hotel can be put on your "favourite" list of accommodation when visiting Prague.
We did enjoy walking from the hotel to the city centre and back thus taking advantage of the river bank points of interest.
Should we go back to Prague one day, we certainly would book at BW City Hotel Moran.
