“Great Tourist Hotel”
Reviewed April 25, 2011

The Central Hotel Prague has an excellent location a few minutes walk from the city center but still in a quiet area.

My room was quiet big (there is an extra bed beside the double one) and extremely clean as the bathroom .
There is a TV set buy unless I missed something, channels are in Czech only, just in case you like to relax watching TV.

The bed and pillows were very good. Temperature was ok but I can't naturally tell how it would be in Winter or in the middle of the Summer. (I visited Prague 21-24th April 2011).

Breakfast was plenty with a nice variety. The coffee didn't taste as it tastes here in Denmark neither did the "juice". But my partner told me that comparing to a
breakfast she got on another tourist hotel in Prague, this was a great feast. I myself was much more than satisfied. People working at the breakfast room were polite and efficient.

There is free Internet access at the lobby but no wifi...

After reading the reviews in TA I decided to chose this hotel between the many the travel agency had to offer in Prague.

I have no regrets.

Good luck!
Oscar from Denmark

My friends and I stayed in Central Hotel for 2 nights at the end of January, we are in our late 20's and were looking for a cultural trip with a few drinks in the evenings. This was acheived; the hotel location was great, and it was a bargain too.

This review would have been 4 or 5 out of 5 had it not been for the way we were treated by the hotel staff as we checked out. A few of the party went down to begin checking out, and were confronted by the staff who had received complaints about random noisy people at 5.00am shreiking about the corridors. As we'd returned to the hotel at the latest 2.00am (and all signed in) not only was it unnecessary to accuse us, but the manner in which they did was completely out of order; they were downright rude, and even when politely corrected, did not even attempt to offer any kind of genuine apology.

This left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths to be honest, after we'd had a lovely (and civilised!) trip.

All in all, good hotel for the budget, but try not to get accused of anything you didn't do!

have just had 5 nights in hotel central and am writing this as awaiting taxi.
good clean budget hotel in a convenient place for old town square being 5 minutes walk away, in a pleasant area plenty of bars restaurants about so you can wine and dine nearby. during our stay hotel restaurant bar area was closed at night.
breakfast continental and basic , rooms pleasant and clean with a large bed.
only complaint free wi fi so slow though there is a free computer in the lounge.
anyone wanting a clean safe place and not too expensive then this is ideal, and yes would use again.

Hotel Central is in a fantastic location, an easy walk to Old Town Square, Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge. There are also shops and a supermarket close by. The room was large and clean, with a large bathroom. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was fantastic! Great value for money, would definitely recommend.

We stayed in a triple room at this hotel during the New Years period and it was a perfect position near the Old Town Square, (around 5 minutes walking). The rooms were very basic (typical 3 star), but were clean. There were no shower/bath products provided. The breakfast was also basic, but reasonable given the price we paid. The staff at reception were extremely helpful and were able to explain how to get to all of the main sites in the beautiful city. We would recommend this hotel to someone who is interested in a basic hotel in a great position for a short sight-seeing trip, (i.e. not spending much time in their rooms).

stayed at the hotel central for two nights found the room to be on the small size but then there were 3 of us, room was clean asked for a extra pillow each at reception but was told that the hotel was full so we couldnt have any pillows (couldnt work that one out) still spoke to the housekeeper next day and got the 3 extra pillows. Breakfast was ok it filled a gap and it was better than the reports that were previously wrote. Only found one of the staff helpful the others needed a course in customer service had a couldnt care less attitude. The hotel is situated within 5 mins walk to wensless square and 5 mins in the other direction to the old town square which is a must to visit we were lucky enough to be there when they lite the christmas tree and it was beautiful but the square was full and it did get a bit frightening as children were getting pushed and pulled always and had to be lifted into an open air restuarant for safety. I did find prague to be expensive but it is a city and you do pay city prices. We loved Charles bridge and the castle which had 220 steps to climb, you can do a four hour walking tour which starts at the top of the castle but we like to do things ourself. I would definetly recommend this hotel for its location but nothing else.
