“Charming but no frills”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Superb: location and charm of the hotel. Cleanliness of rooms and bathrooms

Very good: service and food at restaurant and cafe

Below average: spa is an afterthought and needs more attention. I got a Thai message the day of arrival and it was just average. The jacuzzi was cold. Gym is small and opens only after 3:00 pm so if you wanted to use by other time, you had to ask a staff to open it for you.

Poor: 1) my mattress was lumpy and the duvet/ covers were tiny. I had a queen bed with two single sized covers, instead of a double or queen size. If you are a tall or big person, forget it.

Shower: 2) the shower door only slides open for a max of one foot!! So you'll have to really squeeze sideways to enter without scraping your body against the edge of the sliding doors. The shower stall was two feet by two feet.

3) TV was tiny and had only CNN, BBC and CNBC as English channels.

Would I stay there again? I probably will IF I got a bigger room, with a decent bed, suitable size covers and a slightly larger shower stall entry.

This hotel was booked for me by a friend who lives in Prague. They really hit the jackpot for me. I had a spacious room with an excellent westward view. The location couldn't be better- right next to the subway and tram lines, and just a couple of minutes walk to the Old Towne Square. And it is right next to Municipal all so it's perfect for attending events there.

The thing that stood out most, however, was the staff. The guest services department was nothing short of perfect. They truly want to help to make your visit memorable, and free of issues. They succeed perfectly, as did the desk staff. The breakfast is excellent as well- far beyond a typical continental breakfast, and again, the restaurant service was extremely professional.

I visit Prague occasionally, and will make this my home base in the future. There's no need to shop around when I have already found a hotel that is as close to perfect as I could expect.

This hotel is everything I want when I travel for pleasure- warm , cozy, beautiful , with a wonderful and attentive staff who greet guests with a big smile both day and night. From the lovely room with its comfy big bed and beautiful bathroom and gorgeous window views, to the beautiful architecture and decor, to the delicious breakfast buffet, for me, the Paris is Prague. This was my second visit here, and hopefully there will be a third , fourth, etc.
Thank you , Hotel Paris!

We had booked this hotel about a year in advance via British Airways and got a pretty good deal on it.
On arrival from Prague airport we were greeted by a gorgeously grand hotel full of old world charm.
Check-in was quick and easy and had very friendly reception staff.
I had requested a corner executive room with views of the Tyn Cathedral and I was extremely happy to see that this had been done.
Lovely views over the city especially after a little snowfall.
Breakfast in the morning was great and had a huge choice of hot food, cold meats/cheeses as well as cakes and pastries.
The breakfast hall does get really busy so I would recommend that you get down nice and early.
I really cannot fault this hotel at all, it is probably the best hotel that I have ever stayed in and the staff are really nice and friendly.
If we are ever back in Prague then we will definitely be staying here.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner facing executive room on or above floor 4 for great views.

This hotel has all the beauty of a grand European hotel. The architecture, location and service is excellent. We had a large comfortable room with a very good view from our front windows of the Art Deco building and the streets cape below. The bathroom had underfloor heating which was very pleasant also. There are so many delightful Art Deco architectural features in the main lobby and the Sarah Bernhardt restaurant it is like stepping into an Agatha Christie movie. Close to all important historical sights and the underground train service we highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Paris Hotel for 3 nights from 2nd December 2013 as a base for the Christmas Markets. Having read the reviews, we were not really expecting too much but on arrival, we really could not believe it. This is one of the best surprises we have had. The hotel is very much French Art Nouveau style and you almost feel as if you would walk out of the ddoor on to the Champs Elysees.

Staff were most welcoming and extremely attentive. Room was lovely, well appointed and had all the things one expects of a five star hotel.

The bar was pleasant but in keeping with most bars in Prague, there was no none smoking section which I suspect that tourist pressure is likely to push for over the coming years as the bar serves food and it is not that pleasant eating whilst someone smokes at the next table.

We also ate in the restaurant Sarah Bernhardt which was excellent but shall review separately.

We would have no hesitation returning to the hotel and would just like to mention a small irritation which would not take much to correct.

On leaving, we decided to have a drink in the bar. We ordered a glass of champagne and a gin and tonic. The champagne is served as 0.1litres, clearly marked on the drinks menu, but was flat. We presume that the problem is as there is not a great throughput, the champagne is poured from 0.2l bottles. This leaves one galss in the bottle. The actual measure is embarrassing, less than half a glass. When we mentioned it, we were told that other guests and nationalities had similarly complained about the size of the measure. Might we suggest that in future the hotel sells the full 0.2l bottle and adjusts the prices accordingly. This would

1. Avoid the remaining glass in the bottle going flat and
2. Give the guest a fuller glass, thereby avoiding the feeling of being underserved.

People who drink champagne are hardly likely to refuse to pay the price.

This is not a criticism; merely an observation.

Room Tip: It's worth paying a little more to have a de luxe room
