“Art Nouveau Jewel”
Reviewed January 20, 2012

Took the wife for a romantic wander round central Europe. Stayed here for a few nights.
The Hotel Paris is located in Prague city center, next to the Municipal House and Powder Tower. Within a few minutes walk to Old Town Square, Wenceslav Square, and all major business and tourist sights. So perfect for sight-seeing.

The hotel has been owned by the same family since 1904. Inside it is a treasure trove of Art Nouveau decor. The room was comfortable. The restaurant was superb. The bar sold a fascinating selection of Czech wines. Perfect.

Room Tip: Front of the hotel with a balcony - wonderful views across the city - especially at night!

The hotel i located in the centre, near the city landmarks and shopping if you find the food a bit too rich then I would suggest a trip to the shopping centre where you can find a selection of international cuisine.
The staff is very pleasant and the breakfast buffet is very substantial for a good start. The view from the room was amazing!

My only comment was that i order a taxi to take me back to the airport and the receptionist booked the hotel car which is double the price but did not advice!

Room Tip: requested a room with a view and they were able to accommodate our request.

Dear guest,
Thank you very much for providing your feedback to other travellers and for choosing The Paris hotel. I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay in every respect and pleased to share your positive feedback with my team. Regarding the taxi, there is always choice offered to our guests - hotel car is always little more expensive, but never twice as much.. Also hotel car is more luxury & more reliable than public taxi. Thank you for understading & looking forward to welcoming you soon back to Paris hotel. Kind regards

This is an historically protected building with a great location. It is across the street from the Prague Municipal Building (an art nouveau masterpiece well worth the tour) and close to the Town Centre with all of its history and landmarks and a short walk from the Vltava River.
The hotel houses the well-known Sara Bernhardt Restaurant which doubles as the breakfast area every morning with an excellent breakfast buffet and permitting one to order off the menu.
The staff was young, but top notch and friendly. (They laughed at my jokes !)
The rooms were small, but well appointed and comfortable. We stayed in an Executive class room.
Our rating of this hotel using a scale of 1-10 is a 9.

Great hotel, could not do enough for you. You don't need lunch after having the hotel breakfast, so much choice, if we ever go back to Prague we will stay here without a doubt

At the edge of námêstí Republiky and across from the Municipal House, the 100-year-old Paríz provides a rare chance to put yourself back in the gilded First Republic. The high-ceilinged guest rooms are done in a purplish theme; they aren’t plush but are comfortable and adequately equipped, with more modern furnishings than the lobby would suggest. It’s the ground floor that really maintains an authentic period elegance

We stayed 5 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the new year celebrations. We loved this hotel and would not stay anywhere else when we visit Prague again. The staff were very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble to make the stay such a pleasant experience. We booked the hotel limousine, and the driver was waiting at the airport as arranged and we were soon checking in at the hotel. The location was excellent as it was any easy walk to all the main sights Prague has to offer.

We spend 3 nights at the hotel in late December. The overall experience was very good based on an excellent location, superb breakfast buffet (included in our rate) and nice but a bit drab rooms.
Also the TV channel options were a bit limited (especially for children) and the actual TV, though flat screen, was quite small for the size of our room.
We did get two, interconnecting rooms (502-503) which was a very nice option as we were traveling with children. Be sure to ask for a non-smoking room as well.
The hotel staff was generally very helpful and the Cafe de Paris was a great spot for a drink or light meal and the Paris Cake was quite good, one of Kafka's favorites we were told.
Keep in mind that smoking indoors is allowed in the Czech Republic, so you will deal with that is most restaurants, though many have a non-smoking sections.
I also highly recommend the Prague Airport Transfers company as they were very inexpensive but also offered great service, English speaking drivers and very efficient door to door service from the airport.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for non-smoking and book ahead if you want connecting rooms. Upper floors offer nice...
