“Ideal location, great facilities, good views”
Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

Prefect hotel location, only ten mins walk to the main square. Our room was lovely, free wifi and a view over the river which was fantastic. Free use of pool and gym really added here. Really friendly staff. 5-10 minds walk to lots of bakeries, restaurants Anna bars in the Jewish quarter. I'd definitely come back.

The location is really excellent. Very close to the very impressive historic areas and impressive buildings. The hotel itself isn't pretty. The staff were friendly and helpful. Checkout was a little slow. The room was clean and comfortable. The main area for improvement is the breakfast. There was no table service which meant a long wait in a queue at a coffee machine - so unnecessary and frustrating. There were plenty of smiling staff but none seemed to notice, for example, a lack of bread knife where the "cut your own bread" was. The scrambled eggs were runny and anemic. The buffet choice was good and the food not bad but I'd recommend the manager visit a classy hotel in another city to see what business travellers are used to and expect.

You cannot find a better location for exploring Prague. You are right by the river, a few short blocks away from both Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. The building is an old Soviet era palace, and it feels a bit dated. The rooms were perfectly OK, but nothing special. Try to get a river view. I enjoyed the super comfortable bed, a good breakfast buffet, the rooftop bar and the large gym & spa. I would stay here again.

We stayed here post cruise for four days. The location was fabulous and we walked everywhere. Our check in was smooth although with everyone arriving from two riverboats the lobby was chaotic . The gentleman who assisted us could not have been nicer nor more efficient. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast tremendously, especially liked the coffee machine and the selections of coffees. The servers clearing tables and the cooks preparing omelets were pleasant and efficient.
Our room was very nice and we liked the comfortable bedding. It was very clean and we had nice amenities. However for the cost, we would have liked another chair near the window (there was only one) and the peeling desk top needed to be replaced.

Our biggest complaint however was the Lobby bar! Was there even a bartender there? It seemed like there were three servers who were more concerned with those at tables while ignoring those sitting right at bar. We were never acknowledged or greeted although we were seated right at the bar. We had to call a bartender over to get us a drink. This was such a contrast to the wonderful bartenders and service we experienced at Budapest Intercontinental just 10 days before. Drinks were expensive but if the service had been good we wouldn't have minded. We went back a second night thinking the first night was just a fluke but the second night was even worse. For the first time ever, we left a bar without leaving any tip. The service certainly did not warrant it. For this caliber of a hotel, they need to train their bar staff in customer relations or hire new servers.

Dear Kreemmer,
Let me first take this opportunity to thank you for your recent stay at InterContinental Prague for four days. I do appreciate your feedback regarding the check in process as this is exactly the most important part of guest experience – thank you for sharing with us. I will also certainly pass your lovely comments to my colleagues related room cleanliness and buffet breakfast which you were enjoying a lot. It is disturbing to hear about your disappointments in terms of lobby bar services however I would like to assure you that this kind of experience does not reflect on our usual services. I have already organized necessary steps and actions to avoid such a similar scenario in the future as customer focus is one of the most important focuses at our hotel. I do hope having a chance welcoming you back at our property in the future and please do not hesitate to contact me ore my colleagues directly for any further assistance requested.

I can only give this hotel 4 stars in comparison to many other Intercontinental hotels.this is based on the amenities in room and in the hotel. The location is fantastic and the staff extremely friendly. As a platinum member we were upgraded to an executive room which we appreciated as the hotel was very full and we were a last minute booking so very pleased to get a room.
My small complaints relate to the bedding and bathroom. The duvets make you extremely hot but we asked for a top sheet and blanket and this was so much better. The bathroom amenities were fairly basic with no conditioner provided and only one cake of soap. The room is quite dated and a few loose tiles in the bathroom.
The breakfast was also fairly average with no table service. Self serve everything but a reasonable selection
However we spent only a small amount of time in the room as we were so busy exploring this beautiful city.
I will definitely stay here again but will probably go for a club level room. You can't beat the location

Just back from a great weekend in Prague staying at the Intercontinental. Great hotel, very comfy and just a perfect location for exploring the city which itself is very picturesque and cheap to eat and drink.

Spent several days here in mid September. The location on the banks of the Vltava River and its assorted bridges is excellent for tourist activities as its only a few minutes to the main square, Astronomers clock and other featured areas. We were very pleased with the beds and fine duvets. The breakfast buffet was terrific with a very wide range of options, however at times it was overwhelmed with huge groups of package tourists. We had a fine view of the roof from the second floor but the river side rooms are much better. The view from the roof top restaurant over the many spires is spectacular. We enjoyed the pool/fitness facility only a short ride in a dedicated elevator. The umbrella in the room was a nice and unfortunately needed feature. This is a featured hotel so there is lots of activity; notable guests and their associated press, Prague Fashion week, and large tour groups makes this a busy place. Its a large hotel built during the Soviet era so the exterior reflects that history. Not quaint or quiet. The Concierge support was excellent and very efficient.

Room Tip: Ask for a riverside view.
