Great location, located by the river and on the upscale shopping street of Parizska (in case you need an emergency pair of Gucci loafers). The hotel is a pretty decent gem in the Old Town, despite a pretty dated exterior.

Check in was painless and easy - the room was okay, despite wanting a Queen/King bed and them giving me two Doubles. iPod/iPhone docking station was a nice addition to the room - otherwise it's pretty much what every hotel room looks like.

Had a glass of champagne and tapas on their rooftop deck, which gives you a nice view of the city. Breakfast buffet was quite good in terms of hot/cold selections and beverages. Hotel priced, but decent quality so I can't complain.

The hotel seemed constantly busy with tour groups and conventions, the lobby and entrance was always bustling with people - it's definitely a business hotel and I would not recommend it for a quiet, romantic weekend.

WiFi isn't free - well, technically you have the option of 1 hour free, which is slow as molasses and you have to re-login after the hour. If you need Internet during your stay, be prepared to shell out money or suffer your Gmail page loading for 2 minutes.

The stay overall was positive. You're about 5-10 min walking distance to the Staromestka metro station, Old Town Square and if the price tags at Prada intimidate you, you can take the Pravnicka fakulta tram across the street to the Palladium mall and do some mid-priced shopping there.

We stayed at the Intercontinental with a large group recently and had a very nice stay. The hotel is somewhat uninspiring from the outside, but the location is excellent -- in the Old Jewish Quarter, an easy 5-minute walk to Old Town Square. The rooms are large and well-appointed, if a little tired-feeling. We had a courtyard rooftop view which was dull, but I'm told that the river-view rooms were very nice.

The room includes a hair dryer, mini-bar, coffee maker and iron. The linens were nice and fluffy, and the seating area quite comfortable.

Dining options were also good at this hotel. The breakfast buffet (lobby level) was very good -- quite large and varied in its offering -- and the rooftop dining facility is excellent. It offers wonderful rooftop views of the city and the food is delicious, too. Overall, we enjoyed a very good stay.

Room Tip: Specify a river-view room! The rooftop view is a waste.

the rooms are very nice and spacious, i got a room overlooking the bridge and the river. it looked like the rooms had been refurbished in recent years, very modern looking which is really nice. the loooong corridors of the hotel are brown and dreary.. which dont reflect the modernity of the rooms inside them. the lobby is adorned with overwhleming gold and brass, which is not my cup of tea! however on the roof, there is a very nice restaurant and terrace which provides sweeping views over the roof tops of beautiful prague! the staff are very nice and friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean. i would highly recommend it! the location of the hotel was very nice, along a street full of fancy boutiques lined with old trees which leads you to the main old square which is about a 5-7 minute walk, close to the hustle and bustle, yet far enough for a quiet nights sleep.

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the river

Dear Zewey,
thank you very much to write such a positive report about your stay at the InterContinental Prague. Actuallty the rooms were last time refurbished in 2009 and the lobby just this summer after your stay. Still we have a lot of gold and brass, but more mixed with an up to date lighting and contemporary touch.
I hope you will have the chance to see the changes when you will come back to Prague.

The location is great - right 1 step away from Parizska street and 2 min. walk to Old Town Square. If you are lucky to get the room facing the Vltava river - wonderful view is guaranteed. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. BUT the service is awful. The reception team was inefficient and rude. No Wifi in the hotel area, only in lobby and you have to login every 2 minutes. The breakfast is poor and expensive. The rates for such absence of the service is overpriced. It`s not a 5 star level. My recommendation to hotel management: coach your staff to be polite to every guest of the hotel despite their nationality. I understand the Czech language and to hear comments from receptionist about my nationality (I`m Russian) was quite offensive. Luckily it was my last day at the hotel. I would never return here.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Intercontinental in Prague. Though we had a second-floor room that overlooked a landscaped roof, instead of the Vltava river on the other side of the hotel, we loved our room. It was quiet and well tended, and the housekeeping staff were quick to respond to any request. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi in the lobby and a low-speed version in the rooms, which was just fine for us, since all we were doing was checking email.
The hotel was busy at the time, which hordes of tourists and conventioneers coming and going, but the front desk managed it all effortlessly. The location is fabulous, You can easily walk to Prague Castle, the main square, the bridges, and shopping. Great breakfast buffett.

The location of the hotel, close to Old Town , and not far from the palace was perfect for our 3 night pre-cruise stay on AMACerto. Amenities were vey nice, and buffet breakfast had everything you'd want(although the bacon was a bit rare!!) Walking distance to the Old Town was just a few minutes, and there were plenty of nice resturants, coffee houses, and gelato stands along the way. Prague was a truly lovely city, and we would not hesitate going back there sometime soon.

Room Tip: Location of the hotel, near the river, and bridges, makes rooms about the same re. street noise, but...

If you are going to Prague this is the place to stay. The front desk and concierge lounge staff are among the friendliest and nicest people I have encountered anywhere. This is my 5th visit to this hotel and whenever I am able to choose this is my 1st choice. It is so easy for walking anywhere in the city. The rooms are great not the pretiest building from the outside but once you walk in an awesome place to stay. Great food in the resturant.

Room Tip: Rooms with at the back of the hotel have amazing views
