“its not really a castle...”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

you don't really go into a castle....it's a whole area of different things....you can get a ticket for all or single ones for each area...some galleries..a church...and stuff that I forgot...but nothing seemed that interesting to me as comparing to just walking around and seeing the guard change ( at noon) and looking into the shops...

We walked here from Djevicka where we stayed. It was a brilliant day and we also went to an art/sculpture exhibition. The birds of prey are amazing too!

“Biggest castle in Europe”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

The whole complex is a pristine example of a medieval European castle. Just walking around gives you the feeling like you're living 500+ years in the past. Here you'll find an armory filled with ancient weaponry and suits of armor, recreated medieval "houses" and much more. St. Vitus Cathedral, one of the most impressive cathedrals in the world, also sits here.

“The most amazing castle!”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

We didn't really do our research into the castle such as tickets etc and regret not getting an audio tour. We managed to get by however and were blown away at the sheer brilliance of the architecture. The short trip ticket was fine for us and we stayed for probably 3 hours.. I imagine the long visit ticket would take ALL day.. This was the first attraction we did in Prague and I'm glad we did. Beautiful views and great photo opportunities.. I recommend catching the 22 tram right up to Prasky Hrad then walking down the hill. Great visit!

“preservation money grab”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

Understandable that they need to "charge to preserve" but really? Confussing ticketing, some good for this and some good for that. cant buy a ticket for the bell tower at the main ticketing office this is separate. It is not a "castle" but a series of add ons with very limited spaces open to the public, and a fantastic cathedral in the middle. I woudl recommend going up and looking around for sure, but the admission is not really woth it. save your money and take the day train trip out to Karlstein.
