A great neighborhood in Prague we found ourselves returning to again and again. Transportation there is easy, and it is picturesque. Sadly, it's not a quiet area since everyone else has also heard how awesome it is. There are plenty of Al Fresco restaurants and cafes, so hit one up and enjoy the people-watching!

While other areas of Prague have given themselves over to commerce and relevant / irrelevant commercialism, Mala Strana keeps its own counsel , remaining serene & mysterious even as tourists pour down its main artery, Neru Dova street.
This is an area for exploring stairways, alleys and side-streets just to see where they go. Sometimes, what appears to be a small place from the street, can open into a large subterranean space inside.
We adopted as our starting point the overlook at Prague castle. A cascade of red-tiled roofs drops to the spires and domes of St Nicholas and the church of Our lady Victorious, and beyond .... half of the eastern side of the city is visible. Down a short cobble-stoned length of Ke Hradu, followed by a hairpin turn to the left and you find yourself at Nervdova, an appealing mix of shops and restaurants and palaces.
At the bottom of the hill, Nervdova opens into a large square, home to the Performing Arts Academy where we were treated to a lunchtime concert. Onto St Nicholas church which is very beautiful, after which lunch was the order of the day under the colonnade. Working off lunch was easy with Wallenstein Gardens, aviary, fountains leading to Wallenstein Palace, a massive Romanesque and baroque confection housing parliament.
Our journey wend towards Kafka's Museum, after which it was time to spend the arvo exploring the riverside walk.

walk around these ancient streets and take time to enjoy, find a café and a restaurant to relax, if you can avoid the crowds and visit the gardens which hide behind the walls.

Likes the individual shops and beautiful architecture and nothing to dislike. Many cafés and restaurants to choose from and handmade arts and crafts
