We were fortunate to rent an apartment in this area. It was a perfect location. We were able to get away from the crowds and enjoy the city the way the locals do. We were just steps away from the river and great places to eat. Visited the Jazz Dock on our first night, which was just a block from our place - fabulous music!

Mala Strana is always bustling, full of life/many people/tourists, lots of cafes, bazaars, peddlars, restaurants, bars with many things to do.

There's action here, full of energy and vibes and the main part leading to Prague Castle via the Hills

Make sure you take the time to visit "The Lesser Quarter" which is far from what it's name implies. Lot's of lovely architecture, nice shops, parks and restaurants.

Our hotel was this side of town - and we were glad it was. Take a day to stroll around here when you are bored with the hustle and bustle of the crowds on the other side of Charles Bridge.

Going down from the Prague Castle take Nerudova Street (named after Jan Neruda a local artist) and see the old houses with their symbols on the front. They were used to identify the houses before the streets numbers were used. Nice places to eat and plenty of small streets to walk through. Get lost to find beautiful places out of the touristic routes. It's easy to find the way to Charles Bridge later. It's worth a visit.

This square, like most of Prague, is picture perfect, and very touristicy. You have all the needed stores and convenience for tourists. There are many charming alleys between beautifull renovated old houses. Nerudova street is very nice with lots of restaurants, cafes, small shops.
