Owner description: The Old Town Hall is one of the most significant monuments in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1338 as the administrative seat for Prague's Old Town. Now, it is mainly used for the ceremonial purposes of the capital city, Prague. The historical town hall consists of a set of five medieval houses, the corner of which is adorned with a historical astronomical clock, a gothic oriel window and a massive rectangular tower. The lookout gallery on the town hall tower offers the most beautiful view of Prague. A tour of the historical halls in the Old Town Hall is a unique experience. The expensively decorated rooms date from various periods and are examples of the remarkable development of the town hall complex. The guided tours in various languages are organised in hourly intervals.

It’s one of those tourist places that you must go even though it’s filled with too many people. There are lots to see and lots of stores and restaurants in the area. Just be careful of pick picketers.

This is something you have to see. Hopefuly when there are not much tourists (maybe winter is not crowdy). Nothing more to say. Oups, there is one advice: don't get pictures of your selves with bunch of various clowns on the main square where the clock is. They will call and loure you and ask for money after the picture :-)
This May the clock was under restauratíon. Hope they finished it.

The astronomical clock is obviously under renovation with a really poor sheet hung over the top with an led visual underneath of the clock on the hour. Didn’t stop people stopping and picturing it. When it is working it is lovely to see but going up inside is great for views across the square and worth doing

Although the clock is undergoing repairs this is still worth a visit. We decided to take the guided tour, no extra charge, and so pleased we did. Our guide was excellent, very informative, explained about Czech history (ancient and more recent), and added bits about myths. A real bonus is the tour takes you to underground parts of the buildings that you cannot see if you go on your own. After the guided tour you can then go to the top of the tower and the views are stunning. You can either take the lift or walk up, it's quite a walk! From the top of the tower you can see the whole of Prague. Thoroughly recommend this.

Lots of wonderful architecture to see. Pity the astronomical clock was covered up for repairs, However this didn't spoil the visit. Always crowed as you would expect.
