Owner description: The Old Town Hall is one of the most significant monuments in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1338 as the administrative seat for Prague's Old Town. Now, it is mainly used for the ceremonial purposes of the capital city, Prague. The historical town hall consists of a set of five medieval houses, the corner of which is adorned with a historical astronomical clock, a gothic oriel window and a massive rectangular tower. The lookout gallery on the town hall tower offers the most beautiful view of Prague. A tour of the historical halls in the Old Town Hall is a unique experience. The expensively decorated rooms date from various periods and are examples of the remarkable development of the town hall complex. The guided tours in various languages are organised in hourly intervals.

“Really worth the visit.”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

We aometimes stay right on the old town square and never tire of watching the clock. Even in the cold cold weather there is always a crowd outside waiting on the clock to hit the hour.

“Worth the trip up the tower”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

Sunset is a great time to catch the view from the tower! It can get really crowded and difficult to move around so be patient or try to go just as the clock is striking on the hour - you may find almost everyone else is down the bottom to watch the clock.

“Must visit early”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Walk to the top of the clock tower or take the lift. The view over Prague is brilliant and you have a 360 degree view to get your bearings. A great place to start any tour of Prague City.

“So much history!”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

This is by far the very best Prague has to offer. The history of the Astronomical Clock, although the carillon is very simple, takes you back a few centuries. Take the elevator to the top of the tower for an incredible view of Old Town Square. We were there before Christmas, so there was a Christmas Market set up in the square and the Little Square each night. Dreamy!!

“Best place to meet New Year in Praha”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

Well, we have been there during Silvester night, so if I would droop, they could find it few hours later only - such a crowd, but it's worth it.
