We made a 9:00 p.m. reservation fairly last minute via email, and although we did not receive a confirmation, we went anyway. As it turned out, they had a private party that began at 2:00 p.m. and their intent was to close the restaurant after the party. When we arrived and saw the sign on the door regarding the private party, we were worried that we would need to find another restaurant for the evening. Instead of making us feel like an inconvenience, we were welcomed. We were assured the private party was wrapping up and that they would serve us. We were not once made to feel like we just unnecessarily extended their work day, but rather the service felt as if we were the first table of the evening not the last. The food was superb. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his beef tartare as his appetizer as I enjoyed the duck confit with fois groi. For dinner my husband had the fish of the day which was a local river fish and I had the beef served with parmesan risotto. Of course we completed the meal with a wonderful dessert of creme brulee. Despite our last minute reservation and showing up just prior to their intended closing time for the evening, we were not at all rushed and the service was superb. All of this for half the price of what I would pay back in Canada for the same meal. The food was well worth the rainy walk we had back to our hotel. I highly recommend this small, intimate restaurant.
