prague as a city, is very beutiful.. but the prague is famous for the people who may steal, who may cheat and are not trustworthy.

the taxi drivers can take you througha longer route and charge you double as you are not aware of the roads.

so, all the people travelling and staying in hotels .. should keep all their belongings in lock and key whenever they go out or else, may find something from their baggage stolen.

you should never exchange your currencies on the street as people from bellurosso and other russian cities can fool you and take away your dollars or euros.

so guys, please, be careful ..as i am writing all this with our personal and friends experiences. have a good and safe trip!!!

Not as expensive as some European cities. Beer cheap Czech wine affordable but only the good stuff enjoyable. You pay to all the museums which can add up. Take the Jazz. Boat which offers a good evening. We took the 3 course dinner option which made the evening work well
Old Town best place to stay. Do the apartment thing rather than hotel. Walk everywhere from there.

"The Ultimate Tour" offers "Prague on foot, by tram and boat" including lunch, drinks and a great guide. Daily, in English for 1200Kc. Starts at 10:30 for 6 hours.

We were picked up on time from our hotel and taken to the rendezvous point where we met our guide Blanca. Her English was excellent and she really brought the commentary alive with her dry humour and telling the stories behind every point of interest. She walked at a good pace and made sure everyone in the group could hear - I cannot imagine how she does not get a sore throat! We went through the New Town and Old Town before getting onto the boat.

The boat trip was lovely, enjoying the view from the river with constant commentary whilst enjoying a beer (or wine or soft drink).

After a walk through the Jewish quarter we had lunch which was OK. The soup was a bit watery and the main course edible but nothing to write home about. Dessert tasted cheap and the best thing was the one alcoholic drink included. In fact this so called "excellent lunch" was the cause of us NOT giving the tour an "excellent" review.

After crossing Charles Bridge by foot, we took Tram 22 up to the castle where we saw the changing of the guard and went inside the lovely Cathedral. We were a bit surprised that this was where the tour ended and we were left to our own devices to get home again, but Blanca made sure everyone knew how to get back to the city centre.

Overall this was one of the best activities we did whilst in Prague. There were areas to improve but the tour guide was so good that we would recommend this tour.

We were fortunate to have a very knowledgable Tour Guide who had excellent knowledge of the history of Prague, as she had lived there all her life. Nina was witty, informative & it was clear she had a love of her home town & was eager to impart her knowledge to us. We loved the variety of the tour. Firstly, we embarked on a walking tour of the Old & New Town, followed by a boat tour, where we enjoyed a lovely Czech beer & then disembarked for a delicious traditional meal (there was a choice of 4 main courses). We did hear a couple of people complaining, however the majority really enjoyed the food at this historical restaurant. If you are vegetarian or just don't like European food, then lunch here probably would not suit. After our lunch, we headed off over the very busy Charles Bridge (be careful of pickpockets) & then onto the tram to the Prague Castle. This is an amazing place & we could have spent many more hours here, however, as we were only in Prague for 2 nights, had to settle for the 6 hour tour to see as much as we could in a short time. The tour was meant to be for 6 hrs but Nina extended it to 6.45 hrs - considering most Prague residents are not paid a great deal, we were very impressed that she did this for us. This tour is value for money & we would like to thank Nina for making our day a memorable one.

On a very cold December day, we took the Ultimate Tour by foot, tram, and boat with our tour guide, Blanca. First of all, this guide was very knowledgeable in terms of history, architecture, politics, and daily Czech life. We toured on foot through the Old Town, took a boat ride on the river where we enjoyed a hot wine, had a typical Czech lunch, and finished our day at the castle. Blanca not only was an excellent guide, but she was readily available to answer our many questions. We would definitely recommend this tour with Blanca to our friends.
