“WW2 - unique perspective on Prague”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

My 8 year old son and I went on this guided tour with the focus being WW2 from the Prague point of view. It was very good, informative and very relevant. You walk past the same buildings that you hear about on other guided tours talking about the ancient history of Prague and hear how they were put to use in WW2, whether by the Nazis or by the resistance. Martin was our guide and he does the tours purely as his hobby. His youth and enthusiasm for the subject is contagious, my only criticism being his strong Czech accent. Highlight of the tour was the crypt where the paratroopers who assassinated Heidreich hid away and were eventually captured by the Nazis. Definitely worth a tour.

“Dissapointed and ripped off”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Our guide was Martin and we did the morning tour. Unfortunately although enthusiastic he was hard to understand was not taken to the underground area at all and the tour was over in 1hour 40 minutes, learned as much if not more from the church museum than from the trip. Certainly not value for money as this works out as one of the most expensive tours in prague. At the start of the tour Martin did say if you don't like the tour don't pay but at the end he made it clear when asked he wanted the 600 even counting it in front of us stupidly we paid don't make the same mistake as us.

Marek T, Owner at World War II in Prague Tour, responded to this review, July 14, 2013
Hello, I'm really sorry, you didn't like the tour. I have been informed, that the tour lasted 2 hours and it included the underground crypt - sometimes we go to the crypt, sometimes to the underground of the old town hall- trust me both places are equally interesting. But everytime we inform about the tour in advance, and people really don't have to pay if they don't like it. The thing is, that Martin lets people who stay to the end, pay in front of the crypt and after it lasts for another 20 minutes inside. I can refund you the money of course, but Im unable to refund you the time wasted, though. For which I really apologize. Please write me an email, so that we could agree how to send you your money back. Thanks a lot for your feedback about Martins accent, I have told him to be more accurate with pronounciation. Best regards. Marek Taborsky

“A must for those with interest in modern history”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Mareks enthusiasm and knowledge and the additional information and photos he brings to this tour make the Prague of WW2 come alive - things you might have walked past in previous days take on a whole new meaning as you walk through a couple of the districts. The underground tour under the Old town square shows you more of medieval Prague and the way the buildings there were used in WW2. Would take the tour again if I get the chance to return. This is a full two hour tour ending near Maiselova on the day we went.

“A highlight of my visit to Prague”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

As previous reviewers have said, Marek is a brilliant guide. His English is excellent; also his humour, and his knowledge of the subject. He has photos taken during the war and shows them to the group in the same place in the city that the photos were taken.

Tour includes visit to the underground passages which were used for centuries, but latterly during the war. He really brings alive the past. Tour was 2 hours long and it did not drag.
